ABC Orders More Scripts for “666 Park Avenue” & “Last Resort”; Plus, “Mindy” Extended

ABC just announced that they will be ordering more scripts for both Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. This comes not long after NBC, CBS and Fox have made moved this fall season. As you may recall, NBC ordered up full seasons for Revolution, Go On and The New Normal, while cancelling Animal Practice. CBS, on the other hand, has gone so far to cancel Made in Jersey. Fox gave The Mindy Project and Ben & Kate full season orders. ABC was silent up until just minutes ago when they made this announcement.

Last Resort has been doing well in it’s Thursday night timeslot considering the competition from The X Factor and The Big Bang Theory/Two and a Half Men tandem. It is giving ABC some of it’s best ratings in the male 18-34 demographic. 666, on the other hand, has been surprisingly disappointing in the ratings, considering the pre-season publicity and the benefit of following Once Upon A Time and Revenge. However, on a night when many are tuned into football, ABC seems willing enough to give the show just a little bit more steam to run on.

Both Last Resort and 666 have received orders for two more scripts each. While this might not be the news cast and crew from each show wanted, it is a step in the right direction and basically gives ABC a little bit more time to make a decision.

In news on another network, even though Fox has already ordered a full 22-episode season for The Mindy Project, they announced today that they’ll be increasing that to 24-episodes. Are you pleased with these moves?
