Pia Toscano, last night’s shocking eliminee from American Idol, told Life and Style that she had to be escorted off stage by medics, “I was getting very lightheaded. To be in the position I was in last night was a bit much and a little overwhelming.”
Last night’s results did shock many, including the judges. Pia was a front runner and fan favorite, and had a great performance on Wednesday night. She handled the elimination quite well, pulling herself together enough to sing “I’ll Stand By You” before the show ended to a shocked live audience, and even shocked contestants. Apparently, once the cameras stopped rolling, she was unable to leave the stage on her own, feeling light headed and dizzy. She said, “It was very hard for me to get through that last song, I was trying to take deep breaths, and it wasn’t working out.”
She says that she is much better today. I’m sure the pressure build up is hard enough to take, but to have to sing your goodbye has got to be stressful. As for her future plans? She says “I definitely want to do movies and commercials, all that stuff — musicals, everything!”
What do you think? Shocked by her elimination? Was the stress level just too much? Let us know below!
