As reported earlier, we were all told that the Idol wannabe’s were going to be singing songs from the 80′s, but it looks like that’s changing.
The final 11 are now exiting the 80′s in lieu of the Elton John catalog, just in time for the singer 64th birthday, according the show’s official Twitter account. The actual post was: “UPDATE: It’s official, next week’s theme is Elton John songs! And we wish the Rocket Man a very happy 64th birthday today!” and then posted “Anyone else brushing up on the Elton John catalog for this week’s show like we are?”
We still don’t have the official song list that the contestants will perform, but well, it’s Elton, so we can all imagine the songs they will choose. We also are guessing we will get an appearance from the man himself. Whether he will he mentor or just perform on the elimination show is also up in the air.
