This week, the show was introduced with Ms. Attitude Alexandria’s winning photo from the prior challenge (featured on last week’s episode). Although she was proud and boastful of her achievements, the other girls could not help but talk poorly about this braggart of a girl. Sara (rat tail) talked briefly about her plans upon her return home if she could not make it through the entire competition, her plans being to go back to school and “start off small” (with a modeling career). Alexandria, overhearing Sara’s talk with the other girls, could not help but take offense to Sara’s plans. She, then, questioned Sara’s obligations to being a model.
Besides the usual girl drama in the house, the girls went to their special challenge, where they were told to do a Geoffrey Mac runway show, in which Mr. Mac was the designer. The big prize was two dresses designed by Mr. Mac himself. Although it sounded like a simple runway challenge, there was, once again, a major twist. They had to walk with fire, literally, in the palm of their hands. This challenge was the complete opposite of the first runway challenge, in which the girls were challenged to walk on water (in that giant bubble). Dalya ended up winning this small challenge.
Tyra mail came again, and the girls were given lines to memorize for the upcoming challenge. The girls arrived to the challenge and were introduced to guest judge and notable photographer Francesco Carrozzini. This challenge proved to be irregular once again. The girls were given the lines because they were going to be featured on an upcoming coffee commercial as opposed to a photo shoot. They walked on to the 1960’s retro set, and filmed their commercial in pairs of two. Sara had the biggest problem with filming the commercial since it went against her personal standards. She is a feminist, and the commercial featured, what she called, a stereotypical woman’s role. About half of the teams succeeded in the commercial, but the other half fell short of Tyra’s ideals. Kasia’s team was said to have the best commercial and one of the top moments in this shows history.
Deliberation time gave most of the girls anxiety, since a lot of them did not do well on the commercial. Judges Nigel Barker, Tyra Banks, Andre Leon Talley, and guest judge Francesco Carrozzini (who some girls had a crush on), deliberated and made their final decision. Kasia was the first to be called up due to her outstanding performance. The two girls that were left standing were Sara and Alexandria. This was the second consecutive week for Sara and her chances were not good of surviving this elimination. For her lack of personality, she went home. Ms. Attitude Alexandria luckily made it passed this round, barely surviving with her second consecutive week of guest judges saying that she has an attitude problem.
Alexandria indeed has the biggest attitude problem of all the girls. She thinks she knows what she is doing, enough for her to down-talk the guest judges, twice! Tyra finally notices, and she is getting tired of it. Next week’s teaser shows the girls getting even more annoyed with Alexandria and her bad attitude. It is time for her to go home. As for Sara, she wasn’t the prettiest, but she definitely stood out. It was sad to see her go home. Also, will Tyra ever age?! I wonder if she has gotten any work done… Maybe we will see on next week’s episode of America’s Next Top Model.
