Bachelor Brad Womack proposed to Emily Maynard, single mom, on ‘The Bachelor’ finale last week and rumors started immediately that the pair had already broken up. The couple however insists that the rumors are unfounded.
Brad did admit, in a statement to People Magazine, that things haven’t been a bed of roses since the finale, but that the couple remains engaged:
“At long last, Emily and I can be open to the world and each other about our relationship. Though we are madly in love, it has been a bumpy couple of months for us and our priority right now is to focus on our relationship. We hope that you can respect our privacy as we return to normalcy and begin our off-screen lives together.”
Celebrity gossip site Popeater had reported Tuesday that the couple had already “broken up for good.” According to the site, Emily hated watching Brad’s dates with the other women as they aired each week, after he proposed to her.
“Emily is not able to forgive Brad for what she considers cheating week-after-week with other girls,” a producer reportedly told the website. “It’s always hard sending the couple back into reality after they have been living in paradise, but no one in the history of the show has had as hard a time adjusting as Emily.”
Meanwhile Chris Harrison visited Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, according to People Magazine, and said the couple is doing well and trying to work things out despite some “knock down, drag out fights.”
