After panel last week, people were shaken. Kacey decided it was time to let loose but it’s hard to stand up by yourself in front of “bitches that don’t like you.” Liz said it was hard to be in the bottom two because she wants to change her kid’s life, that it sucks to feel like you put so much effort and then “go home with no hair” and bring nothing back. Lexie knew she had to show more personality in her photos and she promised to herself that she was going to do it.
For some odd reason or another, Kacey decided the girls should ask each other questions to get to know each other better. The girls weren’t completely thrilled but they participated anyway. Kendel got a card that asked her if she ever got in trouble with the law, and she hadn’t. A question for Liz came up and she shared that one of her hardest moments was when she was miserable, homeless, and pregnant three days before her birthday. Jane was asked a question about her background and she said that her father was a loan doctor. She said later to camera, that it was awkward because she didn’t go through the struggles that a lot of girls had. Lexie commented that Kacey was really strange, “I’m serious.”
Tyra Mail: Sometimes you have to go back to go forward. The girls took their ride to the second street tunnel in Los Angeles, where they met Miss J. who told them that they would be starring in a runway show right there in the tunnel. They would be modeling with the guys again, and it would be on a moving runway. Miss J. told them they would walk for three seconds, pose on a small platform above the conveyer belt, repeat, and then strike a pose while a conveyer belt in the middle would allow them to glide back. It was all about working your hardest to keep your composure and confidence while in a difficult modeling situation. The winner would get many, many dollars worth of jewels and look absolutely fabulous. Lexie wanted to focus on making her personality come through, Kacey already believed she had a exceptional runway walk, and Liz commented on how her dress was super long and how it might get stuck. Miss J. left them all with a sound fact, fashion is risk. Chelsey went first, she tripped, and so did every single girl after her. Liz cursed, Anna believed she over-thinked it, Kendel’s shoe fell off, Jane’s face went numb, Esther fell off the stairs at the end, Kayla got stuck, and Chris did not hold a model face. Lexie and Kacey did the best, they both tripped but they kept their face strong and smiling. Miss J. said Kacey fed off the audience and deemed her the winner of the second challenge of the season. Lexie was surprised, and apparently so was Kacey because she screamed.
The next day, back at the house Andre (judge) visited the girls. He brought them a little surprise in the form of one of the most well known models, Karolina Kurkova, who makes her favorite snack for the girls and talks to them about healthy eating. Her favorite snack turns out to be a pink smoothie that all the girls thought was extremely delicious. She also gave them a pep-talk for their next photo-shoot and told them to focus on a feeling and their personality, that the feeling is what’s going to make the picture. She had to leave after the pep-talk but all the girls were very grateful for her advice.
Tyra Mail: Don’t let the competition throw you. While the girls were trying to figure out what that meant, drama began… Kacey wanted Lexie to clean up her bobby-pins, but Lexie wasn’t going to because Kacey still had three day old food left on the counter. Lexie said Kacey needs something that shocks her when she talks, saying “she’s an idiot.” Kacey said Lexie wouldn’t stand up to her without her “lackey bitches,” and Lexie was screaming “leave me alone” at Kacey calling her crazy. Of course Liz had to jump in and try to shut Kacey up, yelling about how she’s sick of hearing her bullshit all the time. Kacey ended it and walked, stating that “Liz is bipolar and Lexie can kiss my ass.”
The photo-shoot took the girls to an indoor boxing ring where they met up with Mr. Jay. He told the girls they would be posing with wrestlers from Lucha Va Voom, a form of Mexican Mask Wrestling. Unfortunately, Kacey would not get her chance to actually box with somebody like she wanted to. They would be photographed by renowned Brakha x 2, a father and son duo: Eddie and Moshe Brakha. They told the girls they wanted to see them bring the “beautiful madness.”
Jane was a little worried because she felt this shoot was a complete 180 from her personality. Wait, what’s her personality again? Anyway, Liz was having a bit of trouble but Mr. Jay quickly snapped her into place, telling her its a model’s job to internalize everything that is given to them. Kendel tried to be fierce but turned into what Mr. Jay described as a screeching hyena. Mr. Jay told Chelsey that she was doing better, Jane needed to show intention and commit, and that Esther had good energy. Kayla did well, Mr. Jay liked that Kacey found a way to stretch, and he loved that Chris wanted to jump for the photo and she gave him consistent effort, he really appreciated that. Ann didn’t have as good a shoot as normal, Mr. Jay wanted her to try something different, instead of repeating the same poses, but Ann’s frustration in her inability to deliver made her lock up. She cried when the shoot was over, telling us that she was very disappointed in herself and that its “hard to stay on the top when you get there.”
At panel the guest judge was Karolina Kurkova, and Tyra’s hair was straight instead of the big curls we were seeing for a bit. Kayla and Liz’s cocktail outfits were addressed at panel, and everyone was told to dress as if it were an audition. Kayla’s hair was also in question, but as soon as she let it out and stopped messing with it, the judges loved her hair. Kendel was told her face was beautiful, but that she wasn’t bringing the talent behind her face to the rest of her body; the judges thought she didn’t ‘own’ herself, and she didn’t know what she was doing. Kacey was told her picture was interesting and mature, but it was also vacant and safe; the judges thought it looked like an online shoe ad. Lexie was told she didn’t look like a model, and in her film it looked like she struggled a lot; the judges thought she had an interesting face but there was no story in her picture. Jane’s photo was comparable to porn, and that she went for the easy pose; the judges thought it was a disaster, and that she needed to work on her personality. They loved Chris’s energy, and were so proud that she asked to jump and succeeded; the judges agreed she made her jump work. Kayla’s picture was strong, and they can see that she really went for it; the judges agreed her ability to transition was a big strength. Liz was told that they could see the light in her eyes; the judges agreed that there was something magical about her picture. They loved Esther’s picture but the judges agreed thats not what a model needs to do. They thought Chelsey’s picture was strong, but she needed to work on her point finger; the judges agreed she looked like a queen. Ann was the most worried one of the bunch, Tyra asked her how she thought she did and Ann said “not well.” The judges, on the other hand, thought she created magic, “look at the eyes”-”look at the mouth”-”eyes”-”mouth”! They agreed she looked extraordinary, amazing, that she owned the ring and that all she needed was more confidence. They said her picture was brilliant and editorial; they loved her body language and said “this is high fashion”. Tyra appreciated her honesty when she stood before panel.
Ann broke a record, receiving the best picture now for four weeks in a row. She was overwhelmed, and Tyra told her that some models have days where they think they did terrible, but the picture comes out magnificent. She told Ann all she needed was a little more confidence, she had to believe in herself. The second best picture was Chris, and Tyra said she was allowed to be a little mad at Ann, all in good humor of course. She told Chris that the panel honors great work, and because she took charge of her photo-shoot she should be rewarded. Third was Chelsey, then Kayla, Liz, Esther, Kacey, Kendel; the bottom two were Lexie and Jane. Tyra told them both they had stunning looks, but both of them were missing something. Tyra told Lexie she had such a big personality, but it never came though to the camera; the judges aren’t able to tell if she wants to be there or if she’s just not interested. She told Jane that she had nice pictures, but the judges don’t know who she is, making her picture “so-so” because her personality is a “no-show.” So who goes home? Tyra pulled the last photo of Jane, making Lexie the next eliminated model. Tyra told Lexie that she is not putting her personality on paper, and she just needs more practice.
Are you in agreement with who won the challenge? How about who left? Are you going to be as annoyed with Kacey as I will be next week? You know she’s going to be overjoyed Lexie is gone.
