After what many will consider a strong end to 2010 in the world of music, it’s hard to imagine that this soon into 2011 we have big name stars ready to take the industry by storm. Traditionally, January is pretty slow, giving time for newbies to break ground on their career without being overshadowed by “old-timers.” But we’re starting off 2011 with a different approach. Just months after her Glee tribute, pop icon Britney Spears will drop her latest single “Hold It Against Me” on January 11. Joining Spears will be Kanye and Jay-Z, dropping their single “H.A.M.” from their collaborative effort Watch the Throne.
Yesterday, West tweeted the cover pic for the single, along with it’s release date. Little is known about this single, including what H.A.M. stands for or who even produced it. Spears, on the other hand, has given a little more information regarding her latest project. Produced by Max Martin (“DJ’s Got Us Fallin’ In Love” & “Dynamite”) and Dr. Luke (“California Gurls” and “We R Who We R”), “Hold It Against Me” is sure to make waves. Singer/Songwriter Bonnie McKee’s demo was leaked yesterday, prompting Spears to tweet the following. “Heard an early demo of my new single leaked. If u think that’s good, wait til you hear the real one Tuesday.” Check out the leaked demo below!
