The 17th season of The Amazing Race began shooting last week, and according to the Reality Blurred website, many of the teams have already been identified. The teams were caught in action from the start, leaving from Boston this year. They have been spotted in such locations as London and Ghana. There are also some team spoilers as well, such as TAR still tapping that beauty pageant circuit, with 4, yeah you read right, FOUR teams with beauty pageant peeps.
Keep your eyes open in the Yak Forum as we add more spoilers as we find them!
Alright, as you all know by now, Carol and Brandy were eliminated on the April 11th episode of The Amazing Race after being U-turned by another team, Brent and Caite. Obviously, they were upset by this and that would be a natural reaction as it’s a race for a million dollars. But what is not natural is how they conducted themselves on the race in comparison to the complaints they made about being U-turned.

Throughout the entire race, Carol and Brandy have ridiculed other teams. They’ve made fun of teams, in particular Caite and Brent, but I’m not sure any team was spared their criticism. Plus, they weren’t pleasant to locals in the countries they were in, at one point when trying to sell ice cream in Singapore mentioning it did not have the bird flu.
When they discovered they were U-turned they immediatly launched into a tirade about Brent and Caite, making fun of their looks and smarts amongst other things. They did neglect the fact that had they reached the U-Turn first, they probably would’ve done the same thing. Some may say we don’t know for sure on that, but then again maybe Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman in the Kennedy assasination and maybe OJ really was innocent too.
So my open letter to Carol and Brandy is this. Admit you got played, admit you lost, and lost you did…..fair and square. Stop whining, or at least have a piece of cheese in your hand when you do it. Better yet, go away. Go home, and enroll in a class teaching you how to be a decent because right now, you suck at it.

Here at the Yak, we love our “reality.” Well, not our own little reality because sometimes that gets crazy, but “reality” TV nonetheless. As real as it can be. Voting people off islands, walking down a runway, living in a house, giving people flowers, singing, dancing, and world travelling. Sounds like the start to a bad book. Even so, we get entertained.
Tonight, we get closer to the end of another race around the world. We have 5 teams left. Only one will cross the finish line. Who’s left? Click on to see what this Yakkster thinks about each team and why they deserve/don’t deserve to win! Then join us in our forum to let us know what you think!

The Emmy award winning reality series, The Amazing Race, has seen it’s ups and downs during it’s many seasons but on the November 15th, 2009 episode it hit a big snag in the eyes of many viewers. Join us in our forum to discuss! But let’s set the stage. During a roadblock, which is a task only one team member can perform, the teams were instructed to go to this mysterious building in Estonia. They were sent with a keyring full of keys and instructed that only one key would open the door, but they had to use their key to open it and the keyhole was in a stone wall.
At one point during this task, Sam and Dan, brothers, used another teams key once it was known which key worked, to enter the building, obviously saving them an immeasurable amount of time. Then the Globetrotters team followed another team in, once that team had found which key worked, effectively skipping the assigned task of not even having to go through their keys. This also saved them an immeasurable amount of time.
Meanwhile, the father and son team of Gary and Matt, who placed last in the previous leg and had to do a Speed Bump, while not quite caught up due to that Speed Bump weren’t apparently that far behind unless the CBS editing made it look that way.
