After 20 seasons, Survivor returns this Fall with a new twist … Old vs. Young! This season will feature, as the Yak broke earlier, legendary football coach, Jimmy Johnson. This season brings about new twists as well, to keep the playing field level in an old vs young setting. Immunity challenges will now feature a new Medallion of Power! Per Eonline, “It gives the tribe who possesses it an advantage in the challenge—if they choose to play it. If they don’t, they continue to keep it. If they do play the, ahem, MOP, it reverts to the opposing tribe.” Survivor premieres September 15, 2010 at 8pm EST/7pm CST on CBS on its new Wednesday night time slot! According to CBS, the new season of Survivor is going to divide the contestants into two tribes: young and old. ”Old” they say will consist of contestants age 40 and up for what they refer to as the “Espada” tribe. The “La Flor” tribe will be the youngins’, made up with those contestants 30 and younger. CBS explains that doing this will give a chance to the elders to show the young ones how it’s done by using their experience and knowledge that comes with age. This Yakster asks however… why isn’t the thirty-somethings being represented? Survivor fan? So are we! Come talk about it in the forum! CBS has announced in a press release today that Big Brother 12 Finale will be a two hour event that will air on September 15, 2010. Suvivior Nicaragua will premiere at 8pm EST/PT before the Big Brother finale at 9pm EST/PT. Discuss here! Former Dallas Cowboys coach, now TV analyst, Jimmy Johnson has been cast as part of the latest Survivor season. Per ESPN.com’s source, Johnson was unable to comment. This rumor has NOT been confirmed yet, as CBS has yet to release the official cast list. The cast will likely be released sometime in August. CBS announced today that Survivor: Nicaragua (it’s 21st season) will premiere on September 15 @ 8PM EST. By now everyone knows that Natalie won Survivor Samoa. For being nice. For being humble. For doing nothing, in this writer’s opinion. Seriously, what did she do in the game? She aligned with Russell and talked to a few people to get Erik voted out (at Russell’s bidding I might add). Natalie is, in my opinion, the most undeserving winner in Survivor history. Now don’t get me wrong, she’s nice. She’s a sweetheart. She’s beautiful, although she needs to throw away the Bumpit she wore at the finale. But did she play a better game than Russell? Hell no! Russell is the best player in Survivor history and I can say this with confidence. He didn’t win, but that means nothing. He played the best game out of everyone and he played it from day one. From his dispicable Katrina story and water dumping, to his early alliances. From his phenomenal initiative to find the hidden immunity Idol without even getting a clue. And then to find it TWO MORE TIMES. He snowed each and every person on that show and even though he wasn’t proclaimed as such, he is, in my opinion, the Sole Survivor. Have a different opinion? When the 19th installment of Survivor, Survivor: Samoa premiered, Russell Hantz, of Foa Foa, was poised to be the biggest and most hated villian in Survivor history. He was poised to surpass Johnny Fairplay, Richard Hatch, “Coach”, Tyson and others as being the most hated contestant in the entire series. (Join us in our forum to discuss!)
