When you are a stable network like CBS, you can afford to dish out a press released detailing the release of a great majority of the programming making up your primetime schedule. The Eye network announced the renewal of 14 shows that come as no surprise to many for its upcoming 2013-2014 television season.
Joining reality staples Survivor and The Amazing Race is Undercover Boss and sitcoms 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly. On the drama side, The Good Wife, The Mentalist, Hawaii Five-0, NCIS: Los Angeles, Person of Interest, Elementary, and Blue Bloods will return. News magazines 60 Minutes and 48 Hours will also be making a come back next season.
Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, NCIS and CSI have been previously announced as returnees for the upcoming television season.
Now, what about Two and a Half Men? CBS is currently in talks with WB Studios, but all signs point toward positive contract negotiations for a return. Once details have been ironed out, Criminal Minds is also expected to be added to the list, but it seems cast salaries are holding up that deal at the moment. Golden Boy, CSI:NY and Vegas are not officially cancelled, but they are not officially renewed as of yet. If we’re playing odds, we’ll be one of these three will make a return, but that will depend on CBS’s development for it’s pilots. Stand by for updates.
