Talk about pressure, singing the nation’s anthem in front of 153 million people! It’s a good thing she’s used to that kind of pressure because Christina Aguilera is slated to sing the National Anthem at the Superbowl which is scheduled for February 6th at Cowboy Stadium in Dallas.
She has sung at the Superbowl before, performing the halftime show at Superbowl XXXIV in 2000. However, the newly divorced songstress has said that this gig is different. She joins the Black Eyed Peas who will be performing the halftime show that night. Aguilera states that she’s been performing the anthem since she was 7 years old but singing it at the Superbowl is a dream come true for her. She joins an esteemed list of performers to have sung the anthem at the Superbowl, including Carrie Underwood, Whitney Houston, Garth Brooks, Mariah Carey, Billy Joel and Beyonce’.
Superbowl XLV will air February 6th on Fox, followed by a much anticipated episode of Glee.
