Dancing With The Stars – 10/25/2010 – Let’s Rock…..

Baby got put in the corner tonight. Jennifer Grey got her lowest score to date on tonight’s Rock and Roll themed episode, getting a total of 20 points from the judges. Bristol Palin got her highest score to date, a jaw dropping 23 after a jaw dropping pretty good dance that left this author hating that it was enjoyable. Brandy knocked it out of the park though, she was the highlight of the night for me, scoring 26 (which I think she should’ve gotten at least all 9′s, if not some 10′s). So, how did the others do? Audrina and Tony got admonished by the judges somewhat, but seriously judges, nitpick much? They did score a 24 though.

Kyle and Lacey were up next with their tango and I was impressed with how much Kyle’s learned technically. So were the judges, and they rewarded them with a score of 23. Rick and Cheryl were up next with their version of a Tango set to Van Halen’s music. While I really liked it technically, Rick look seriously TICKED OFF during this performance and I always thought the tango was about passion and such, not “I’m going to cut you” anger. The judges thought so too, about the face, but also liked the technical aspects and gave them a 24.

Tonight’s “I really hate you judges” look goes to Anna, of Kurt and Anna, after a weird performance. They didn’t do good at all, and got the lowest score of the night with 18. Then we got the Dance Marathon. This is where all the couples go out on the dance floor at the same time and start dancing. The judges then hold up a paddleboard and if your name’s on it, you’re out. There were 7 couples tonight so the first couple out got a 4 to add to their earlier dance score, the second couple got a 5 and so on. Here’s where mercy set it, at least for me, as the scores evened out a bit. But you guessed it, Kurt and Anna were out first, they got a 4 and ended up with a total of 22 for the night. Next out were Bristol and Mark, they got 5 points and ended up with 28 points total. Then Rick and Cheryl got the boot, adding 6 points to their total and ending up with a 30. Kyle and Lacey danced their way out after that, adding 7 points to their existing 23, totalling 30 as well. Audrina and Tony got 3rd place in this dance off, and with their already scored 24, they added 8 and totalled out with 32 points. After that, Jennifer and Derek, and this saved them. 9 points added to their series low of 20 gave them an overall total of 29. Finally, Brandy and Maks took the top spot again, and added on to their 26 points was another 10, giving them a total of 36 points.

Here’s the leaderboard for the night:

Brandy/Maks – 26 + 10 = 36

Audrina/Tony – 24 + 8 = 32

Rick/Cheryl – 24 + 6 = 30

Kyle/Lacey – 23 + 7 = 30

Jennifer/Derek – 20 + 9 = 29

Bristol/Mark – 23 + 5 = 28

Kurt/Anna – 18 + 4 = 22
