Dancing With The Stars, Week 3 – And So The Story Goes…

Hello everyone and welcome back to Dancing With The Stars! This week each star was challenged to tell a story through their dance and they got to pick their songs as well. But first, Brooke Burke’s dress tonight…..it shall be hereby known as The Willy Wonka S&M Golden Ticket!

Wendy Williams personal story involved sleeping in a car at one point in her life. Sad enough if her dance weren’t even more sad. She and Tony danced the Foxtrot. Cue my beloved grandma down from heaven to show her how to dance. For a woman who proclaimed pre-show that she was there to WIN, she sure as heck isn’t showing it. The judges didn’t think much of it either, they gave her the lowest scores for her yet, 15.

Chelsea and Mark danced the Cha-Cha to a song made for her and it was about her first love. Her outfit, well, in essence it was a bikini. If you didn’t know she was dancing the Cha Cha, you wouldn’t have been able to tell by the dance. I give Mark props for trying hard choreography, but you do have to stick to the actual dance given to you as well; the moves were a bit harsh and the judges didn’t show a high amount of love either. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great and they got a 23.

Chris and Cheryl danced the Rumba tonight to “Let It Be…”. The dance was dedicated in essence to his mother and it was, suffice it to say, a pretty dance. The story was heartbreaking, but the dance itself was sweet and endearing. The judges thought the emotion of the story was really good, but there were technical issues here and there, and they ended up giving them a 21.

Kendra and Louis danced the Rumba as well; her song/performance was dedicated to her hubby and boy, and overcoming the “haters” in her life. The judges were mixed, with some saying it was very “hot” while Len wasn’t impressed with “unnecessary gyrating” that went on. They ended up scoring them at a 23.

Romeo and Chelsie danced the Rumba tonight, and I didn’t know he’d lost two cousins. What a sad story! He took a huge step back tonight thought, this just wasn’t that good of a dance. He didn’t do much in it, that was the major issue, but he did look good…well, doing nothing, lol. Judges didn’t give him very high marks, he ended up with a 20 out of 30.

Hines and Kym danced the Samba next, and it was a happy dance! It was a happy, great, fantastic dance, very impressive! The judges raved on it, Len telling him his mother would be very proud, Bruno confused everyone by telling him “two for the price of one, happy hour!” (ed: huh?!?) while Carrie Ann raved about his “bounce”. They gave them their personal high score of the season, a 25.

Petra and Dmitry danced the Waltz after that and yup, it was the story of the tsunami, but at least it was in an uplifting manner too. It gave you a feeling of hope rather than despair and technically it was a beautiful dance! The judges loved it, they also gave her a 25.

Sugar Ray and Anna danced the Paso Doble tonight, and the story was about him as a fighter. Their song was “My Prerogative” by Bobby Brown and had a definite fighting theme to it. I was very impressed by this, it was a total comeback for him. The judges said he was “back” but did need to work on his lines and such. He scored 20 out of 30.

Kirstie and Maks danced the Rumba to “Over The Rainbow” and the story told was about her moving to L.A. to be an actress, and she gave herself a year to get a job. She told of getting the job on Star Trek II and how her mother fell ill. It was a sweet story and an endearing dance, but at the start of it they had a stumble. Afterwards we found out Maks had a muscle strain in his thigh, but was impressive was that they came back from that stumble and still managed to bring the emotion to it. The judges commended them for that, and gave them a 21.

Finally, Ralph and Karina danced the Rumba to “Stay Gold” from The Outsiders, which was also his wedding song. He dedicated the dance to his wife. Now, personally, I thought it was well done, very sweet and you could pull the emotion from him out of the dance. The judges were less than receptive though, still remarking about his hands and feet. Carrie Ann called it sweet and then Len had to butt in to say it wasn’t. Len, you had your say, just drop it dude! They didn’t trash them totally though, they ended up with 21 out of 30.

So, here’s your leaderboard for the night:

Petra/Dmitry – 25
Hines/Kym – 25
Chelsea/Mark – 23
Kendra/Louis – 23
Chris/Cheryl – 21
Kirstie/Maks – 21
Ralph/Karina – 21
Romeo/Chelsie – 20
Sugar Ray/Anna – 20
Wendy/Tony – 15

My prediction is for bottom three: Romeo/Chelsie, Sugar Ray/Anna and Wendy/Tony. And I also think Wendy will be going bye bye tomorrow night. Tune in to find out!
