Ya, you read that right. Even better? It’s called “The Choice.” Original, right?
Kicking off this June, Fox brings you the next reality dating flop show. Since Joe Millionaire worked so well for Fox, it’s time for their next best attempt. This upcoming six-episode series will bring you the “world’s most eligible celebrities” looking for love in all the right places. The catch? You probably guessed it … they can’t see their potential dates.
Pulling from The Voice, each episode will hold their own set of “Blind” auditions, where celebrity bachelors will sit on rotating chairs and only hear the voices of the singles looking to snag a date with a famous stud. Should the celebrity approve based on the voice, they can turn their “love handles” to spin their chair. Just like NBC’s hit singing competition, if more than one celeb grabs their love handles, the celebrities must battle it out for the affection of the average Jane. Forget the battle rounds. The Choice brings you speed dating with a catch. After the blind stages, each bachelorette will have mere seconds to convince the celebrity studs why they should be taken on to the final round.
The show’s final round, hosted by So You Think You Can Dance’s Cat Deeley, will pit the final contestants in each “team” against each other. They will be asked questions a la Miss America and the celebrities will have to choose between one of the two women. Then, and only then, can they partake in their dream date with one another.
One episode of the series will feature female celebs looking for love with average Joes. The celebs, per Fox, will include “a good mix of sports stars, music stars, TV stars, reality stars,” who must be “successful, famous, very attractive and single.”
Folks, I’m not kidding about this show. It’s really happening and it’s coming to a TV near you on June 7. Thoughts? You KNOW you wanna sound off below.
