Fox Orders Full Seasons for “The Mindy Project” + “Ben and Kate”

Fox is the next network to make a full season commitment for at two of their new fall fare. Who are the lucky winners? The Mindy Project and Ben & Kate received full season pickups just minutes ago. Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment at Fox, released a statement earlier today

“BEN AND KATE and THE MINDY PROJECT have everything we want to stand for in comedy: smart writing, hugely appealing casts and comedy that feels contemporary and real – which is why we’re confident they will continue to build on what is already an appointment comedy night for young, influential audiences on Tuesdays.”

This pickup brings a full 22 episode season for Mindy and a full season order of just 19 episodes for Ben & Kate. Why just 19? Reports claim that series creator Dana Fox’s pregnancy cut the first full season a bit short.
