Fox Reveals Midseason Plan, Premiere Dates for American Idol, The Following, Touch

This afternoon, Fox revealed it’s midseason game plan, listing premiere dates for one of this season’s most anticipated new dramas, the granddaddy of singing competitions and a new premiere date for Kiefer Sutherland’s Touch.

In case you missed the umpteen million “breaking” news reports on American Idol‘s 12th season, the judge’s table is being retooled. [insert shock and awe here] Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban join veteran Randy Jackson at the table this upcoming season. American Idol kicks off Fox’s midseason premieres with a special two-night, three-hour premiere, starting Wednesday January 16 at 8/7c & Thursday January 17 at 8/7c.

Kiefer Sutherland’s sophomore season of Touch, which was originally slated to premiere this Friday, will now kick off it’s 2nd season on February 1, after Fringe completes its final season in January.

In addition, the highly anticipated and critically acclaimed thriller from Kevin Bacon, The Following, will kick off Monday January 21 at 9/8c. The Following centers on Bacon, an FBI agent, following a serial killer and chronicles the hunt of said killer. Fox will also premiere a new comedy, The Goodwin Games in early 2013, but a date has not been set.
