From Dancing to Diving ~ ABC’s New “Celebrity” Reality Competition

Bet you thought all of the outrageous reality TV competition ideas were worn out, right? Well, think again. Adapted from the Dutch series, “Celebrity Splash,” ABC hopes to bring you a Diving With the Stars-esque type of show.

According to producers, celebrities will perform dives which are to increase in difficulty each week. They may include backflips, somersaults and other formats of varying difficulty. Before the “stars” take the diving boards, they will be trained by a professional diving instructor for a number of weeks. No other information has been released at this time. We’re expecting a summer air date, but that has not been confirmed.

Celebrity Splash was actually a hit over in the Netherlands when it premiered after the Olympics. Will it go way of Dancing With the Stars or does anyone see this flopping on ice like Skating with the Stars? Remember that one? Also does anyone else think the DWTS shorthand will transfer over to this show?
