From Dancing to Skating With The Stars & ‘V’ Scoop

It looks like ABC will just keep on relying on these celebrity gimmick shows, and as long as people keep watching, they’ll keep airing. And people do watch. When the latest season with Dancing with the Stars ends in November, ABC will move to the ice. It will be winter time after all. Skating with the Stars will only be a short-lived 6 episode extravaganza (or flop, depending on who’s skating), which will pair celebrities (likely C & D listers) with professional ice skaters in a similar format to DWTS. They will perform live, be critiqued by an expert panel and sent home one couple at a time at America’s mercy. Skating with the Stars will premiere on November 22nd, following part of  the DWTS season finale at 9EST. The cast will be announced during the DWTS broadcast on November 2nd.

In other news, ABC has confirmed when V will be returning to it’s schedule. Making it around for a second season, V is sure to fill the sci-fi want of some of it’s already grounded fans. V will premiere on January 4 at 9pm, following No Ordinary Family. Speaking of which, ABC is moving it’s freshman hit a number of times throughout the rest of 2010 into 2011. Family will move to a 9pm EST slot on Tuesdays, beginning November 30, and then back to 8pm EST on January 4, as V’s lead in. If you ask me, moving around a freshman drama as it tries to pick up steam is NOT wise, but what do I know? I’m no network exec. For a breakdown at how ABC’s schedule will change, see below.
