From One Puppet to the Next: Katy Perry’s Next Move

Well, she couldn’t sing with Elmo, but Katy Perry will be performing during a live segment with the puppets from Springfield on a special Simpsons. The episode, slated to be a Christmas special, is unique in that the cast of the long-running animated hit will be puppets instead. Katy Perry will not only sing a special rendition of the “39 Days of Christmas,” but she will also play the role of Moe’s girlfriend, EW  reported earlier. Move over Elmo, it’s Moe’s turn. It also looks like Perry will not be the only celeb hitting Springfield for this special episode. Martha Stewart will also reportedly make a visit (but in animated form).

Perry has had her fair share of the spotlight in the news recently. After PBS had decided that her “Hot N’ Cold” segment with Elmo will not air on an episode of Sesame Street, it seems as if the people over at Fox ran to fill in the gap. Katy Perry is also tonight’s musical guest on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Amy Poehler. The Simpsons episode, “The Fight Before Christmas,” is set to air December 5 on Fox. What do you think? Is this a better career move for Katy Perry? And what is with her latest puppet path? Let us know what you think in our FORUMS!
