‘Glee’ Boss Denies Bieber Fever, Plus More Paltrow & Gaga

Contrary to the report that swept the web yesterday, Glee boss, Ryan Murphy, denies a Bieber tribute episode. And the masses exclaim “Thank the Heavens!” From the mouth of Murphy himself, “Those [tributes] are reserved for artists with big catalogs. Bieber comes up in episode 13 as a small plot point. Sam (Chord Overstreet) sings a JB song to win Quinn’s (Dianna Aragon) approval.” The episode is entitled “Comeback,” which also features a diva-off between Rachel (Lea Michele) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) battling it out to a tune from Rent. The highlight of the story, Glee may have just saved face by denying a Bieber-centric episode!

In other news, Gwenyth Paltrow WILL be reprising her role as Holly Holiday for TWO episodes this spring. And she’ll be getting it on with Mr. Shu in the process! Murphy explains, “Gwyneth is coming back for two episodes. She’s coming back specifically to date Will [Matthew Morrison]. Those two have become really good friends in real life and had really good chemistry. She’s coming back as a sex education teacher. Gwyneth and I are emailing, talking every week: What are we gonna sing? We’re trying to do something fantastic. So she’ll be  [in episodes] 15 and 16. She comes back [to film] in January and she’s with us for three and a half weeks I think.”

AND, in even more news, thanks to EW.com, we have confirmation that Lady Gaga has already given clearance to Glee for use of her newest single “Born This Way” that has yet to be released! The song will be centered around closeted football bully Karofsky, to give that story and the character some closure. Moreso, favorite Kristin Chenoweth will reprise her role as April Rhodes for a multi-episode are towards the end of the season.
