‘Glee’ Tackles Jackson, Special Post-Super Bowl Episode

Rumors have been swirling as to how Glee is going to pull out all the stops for the coveted post-Super Bowl episode…and we’re here to put them to rest. Glee is doing Michael Jackson. Well, only sort of. Contrary to the previous rumors, Glee will not make the post-Super Bowl episode a tribute to either Jackson or The Boss. However, Glee will be performing “Thriller” as part of a special supersized episode. The Jackson performance will be part of a special mash-up with a song yet to be determined. The episode, expected to be one of the priciest in television history, will also feature songs from the Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, and Lady Antebellum.

Word on the street was if this was going to be a tribute episode, it would have likely been to none other than Sir Elton John. Don’t be surprised if that ends up part of the Glee catalog towards the end of the season. Rather, this episode will continue on with the sports theme of the night, as it will take place during the local football championship and the cheerleading regional championships. Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) and her Cheerios will perform the “Thriller” mash-up during the McKinley High’s football game. Gleeks can also expect appearances by Blaine (Darren Criss) and Coach Bieste (Dot Marie Jones). What do you think about the news? Are you skeptical about Glee going Jacko?
