After being engaged for a mere few weeks, Crystal Bowersox and her fiance, Brian Walker, tied the knot this past weekend. Walker and Bowersox have been friends for a long time before they decided that marriage was the next step in their lives together. The couple wed in Chicago on Sunday, October 10, 2010, along with many couples around the world who took advantage of the special date 10/10/10. In an interview with People Magazine, Bowersox says, “Our lives have never made more sense than they do right now. I can’t believe how incredibly lucky we are to have found so much laughter, love, and light within each other. We’re one happy WalkerSox family.”
Bowersox wore an Earth-friendly gown that featured macremé, seashell and bead-detailing created in designer Tara Lynn’s solar powered studio. Bowersox and Walker met at Open-Mic night at the Uncommon Ground Cafe six years ago, which is where they also decided to hold their special ceremony. In a relatively small ceremony, Tony, Bowersox’s son, was the ring bearer. Also in attendance was Idol alum Didi Benami (Season 9) and Lance Barber (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia). Chicago Acoustic Underground’s right reverend Michael Teach led the ceremony. The newlyweds held their reception with a laughing Buddha cake baked at a local organic and sustainable bakery. Walker and several musician pals helped provide some of the entertainment at the reception. Bowersox, runner-up of the most recent Idol competition, will return to the studio soon to continue working on her debut album. Last week, Idol champ, Lee DeWyze previewed his debut album’s cover HERE, Live It Up.
