Justin Bieber recently made the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, which included an in depth interview with the magazine on a wide array of topics ranging from sex to politics. The Canadian born pop sensation hit a few sore spots apparently with his opinions, so we thought we would just sum up a few of his answers to see what you think.
On the topic of sex: “I don’t think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them,” when asked if one should abstain from sex until married. “I think you should just wait for the person you’re…in love with.” Basically, no, you shouldn’t wait. If you feel in “love” like most kids do with their first boyfriend, well then it’s a go! This could be as young as 12 I guess.
On to heavier topics, the magazine delved into the political opinions of the star, igniting a PR nightmare for his managers.
When asked about abortion: “I really don’t believe in abortion,” he said. “It’s like killing a baby?” Delving further into the topic, the interviewer asked if he would feel any differently if the unwanted pregnancy was the result of rape. Again, he pretty much said no, responding with “Um. Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason, I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.”
I’m sorry, but ‘everything happens for a reason? Rape happens for a reason? Not cool Biebs. Not cool.
The interview continued with these gem:
“You guys are evil,” he said of all Americans when asked if he would ever consider becoming a U.S. citizen.
“Canada’s the best country in the world. We go to the doctor and we don’t need to worry about paying him, but here, your whole life, you’re broke because of medical bills. My bodyguard’s baby was premature, and now he has to pay for it. In Canada, if your baby’s premature, he stays in the hospital as long as he needs to, and then you go home.”
On one hand, I’m with him. Our healthcare is the pits. I wouldn’t call all Americans evil over it however. On the other hand, he is Canadian, and making plenty of money off us “evil Americans”… ok well not this evil American, but you know what I mean.
What say you? Is this Canadian kid wise beyond his years or is it time to ship him back to Canada? Sound off below!
