UPDATE October 16, 2012: It’s Official. Finally.
Well, it’s about time. Talk about anti-climactic. Reports are swirling that deals are pretty much set in and we will have an “official” announcement this week confirming that Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez are the new hosts for The X Factor. Consider this our official announcement. The hosts aren’t needed until the live shows kick off in November, hence the never ending “search” and what feels like a years worth of speculation.
Khloe and Mario have been on the short list for quite some time, which should diminish the shock and awe Cowell might have wanted from the viewers. He has confirmed through numerous pre-season appearances that Khloe was indeed in the forefront of the host race. It looks like the salaries will add millions to the show’s already hefty sum for not so hefty ratings. The X Factor has been softer than last season’s disappointing season and has so far lost the ratings battle with NBC’s The Voice.
The X Factor hired Demi Levato and Britney Spears to join Simon Cowell and LA Reid this season. They recently concluded the audition stages and will take us into the homes of the judges this week, as the groups get trimmed heading for the live shows.
Are you pleased with this duo? Will the addition of the polarizing Kardashian family turn you off from the show or will you be tuning in? Don’t forget to check out everything entertainment – from Reality TV to primetime TV to music and more – in our FORUMS.
