‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson, Dead at Age 50; Farrah Fawcett, Dead at Age 62…

[singlepic id=98 w=320 h=240 float=left] The entertainment industry has lost two great figures today. Farrah Fawcett, first catapulted to fame with “Charlie’s Angels” and Michael Jackson, the king of pop.

Official reports state that Jackson died of a heart attack, with Farrah Fawcett passing on after a long battle with anal cancer. [singlepic id=97 w=320 h=240 float=right]

I vividly remember the first time I saw the ‘Thriller” video, and used to go around clutching my copy of the ‘Thriller” album (and if I could find it would probably be worth a lot more now). Michael Jackson, no matter how you viewed his personal life, was an icon of song and dance, with a career spanning a lifetime. His “Thriller” album won eight Grammy’s and was the best selling album of all time. He pioneered the “moonwalk” along with many other milestones in the music industry.

Fawcett quite obviously gained a lot of fame through “Charlie’s Angels” but was also VERY well known for THE poster and pretty much every woman on earth at the time envied that head of hair. She was also nominated for an Emmy for her protrayal of a battered wife in “The Burning Bed”.

Two entertainment icons, gone like that, on the same day. May they rest in peace. Yakkity Yak’s thoughts and prayers go out to their friends and family.
