For the first time, John Lennon’s private letters will be viewed by the world in a book to be published in October 2012. They were purchased by Orion Books, based in London, after Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono sold the rights. These letters are ones he wrote to friends, various fans and business associates. Beatles biographer Hunter Davis purportedly persuaded Ono to hand over the rights to the publisher. These letters are claimed to give fans a unique insight into Lennon’s private thoughts, and were bought for approximately $1-2 million. They contain drawings and notes Lennon wrote to record companies, newspapers and even a child. John Lennon would’ve turned 70 last October.
