Finally! A southern rooted, down home country, comedy returns to the airwaves. ABC’s newest comedy “Malibu Country” starring country superstar Reba McEntire, hits all the high notes.

When the show begins, we’re introduced to Reba Gallagher, former one-hit-wonder country star and soon to be ex-wife of one of the industry’s biggest stars. Reba decides it’s time to get her life back. So, what does she do? She loads her two kids and her “Mama” up in the pick-up and they head to Beverly! Well, Malibu, but you get the point.

Upon arriving in Malibu, Reba sets her sights on reviving her singing career. Mama eases into the lifestyle that is “California living,” and the kids try to make friends in the harsh social scene that is Malibu.

Overall, this series looks very promising! The plot line has potential to move in several directions – all of which would be great. The characters have qualities that make you fall in love with them from the first scene. This indicates a huge potential for character development as the show goes on.
