Alright folks, another busy day in my (boring) life and another exciting day in the world of network TV. NBC and ABC presented their fall schedules today and CBS (now on my hated networks list – oh, all 4 spots are now taken!) broke word of canceled shows. Click down below to see what NBC (last season’s 4th place network) and ABC are bringing your TV (Hi-Def and snazzy or not) …
NBC: They’ll be doing something new this season with a “split” schedule. This will enable them to bring back “bubble” shows, but only for a shortened season to see how they go one more time … All I’ll talk about is the Fall.
Monday-Friday:
10PM – 11PM: The Jay Leno Show ~ Yes, NBC went through with this (IMO) stupid idea. I know he had material for late night TV, but I think primetime Leno is going to get old and quickly. Oh well, their loss.
Monday:
8PM – 9PM: Heroes ~ NBC has moved this show up and hour in the hopes of bringing in a new drama. Check out the return of this sci-fi hit!
9PM – 10PM: Trauma ~ Another medical drama surfaces the small screen. NBC brings medical TV to a new light, looking at first response paramedics. Check out a video preview here
Tuesday:
8PM – 10PM: The Biggest Loser ~ This fall, NBC brings us 2 full hours of Biggest Loser competition each week. Don’t miss the new season!
Wednesday:
8PM – 9PM: Parenthood ~ Another new drama NBC is bringing, tells the story about 4 siblings who are now parents. Life as a parent may not be what everything thinks. Check out a preview …
9PM – 10PM: Law & Order: SVU ~ We knew this show wasn’t going anywhere. Question here is will Meloni and Hargiaty be back? Talks are in the works. $$ is an issue now a days. On another note, moving it to 9PM on Wed may hurt this show. They can thank Jay Leno.
Thursday:
8PM – 8:30PM: SNL: Thursday ~ Saturday nights have moved to Thursday, at least for now. When Thursday becomes just Thursday (and not Saturday) look for Joel McHale and Chevy Chase in Community, which looks at the mis-fits at a local Community College.
8:30PM – 9PM: Parks & Recreation ~ NBC has brought this show back after a fairly surging first season this Spring. Don’t miss part of what NBC is claiming to be the funniest day of the week!
9PM – 9:30PM: The Office ~ I, for one, just cannot get into this show. Apparently everyone else can. The hit comedy is back this fall (as if anyone doubted).
9:30PM – 10PM: 30 Rock ~ Miss Tina Fey wasn’t going anywhere and neither was her show!
Friday:
8PM – 9PM: Law & Order ~ The show begins yet another season this fall on a cop-themed Friday.
9PM – 10PM: Southland ~ Another drama that picked up speed this spring made it back to the small screen. Hopefully following L&O will benefit this show.
Saturday:
8PM – 9PM: Dateline
9PM – 11PM: Law & Order: SVU, Trauma, Southland encore presentations
Sunday:
7PM: Football Night in America
ABC: ABC is clearly looking to retool themselves this season. We’ll see if it works out for them.
Monday:
8PM – 10PM: Dancing With the Stars:Performance Show ~ Needless to say, we never doubted this show’s return.
10PM – 11PM: Castle ~ ABC brought back this drama for its sophomore season. It has great critical acclaim, so we’ll see how it holds up in the fall
Tuesday:
8PM – 9PM: Shark Tank ~ This new reality show brings entrepeneurs to the center stage as they present their latest business concepts to a team of investors. Each week, one will be eliminated.
9PM – 10PM: Dancing with the Stars: Results Show ~ The name says it all.
10PM – 11PM: The Forgotten ~ A team of amateur detectives pieces together the forgotten lives of Jane and Johns Doe. The killer took their lives and their identities.
Wednesday:
8PM – 8:30PM: Hank ~ Kicking of a night of ALL-NEW programming, Hank chronicles living the high life in NYC before having to move back to a small town. Kelsey Grammar returns to TV.
8:30PM – 9PM: The Middle ~ Patricia Heaton returns to TV in a show that looks at the hero that is the parent in a middle-class town in Indiana. Supermom apparently has nothing on her.
9PM – 9:30PM: Modern Family ~ It seems to be family-themed Wednesday. 3 fictional families interview for a documentary, not knowing how much information they will really be sharing.
9:30PM – 10PM: Cougar Town ~ Welcome the return of Courtney Cox to the small screen! A newly-turned 40 year old wants to be more than just a mom and a successful career woman. How about being on the prowl in Cougar Town?
10PM – 11PM: Eastwick ~ Three housewives who would want nothing to do with each other on a regular day end up being the best of friends after a few drinks and a stranger comes to town. What more? He brings out their supernatural powers, of course.
Thursday:
8PM – 9PM: Flash Forward ~ A cataclysmic worldwide event causes everyone to black out for 2 minutes 17 seconds and gives them a peek at their life 6 months from now.
9PM – 10PM: Grey’s Anatomy
10PM – 11PM: Private Practice ~ Moved to its new night, Private Practice and Grey’s team up together.
Friday:
8PM – 9PM: Supernanny
9PM – 10PM: Ugly Betty ~ The move to Friday could speak bad juju for this show …
10PM – 11PM: 20/20
Saturday: Saturday Night Football
Sunday:
7PM – 8PM: America’s Funniest Home Videos
8PM – 9PM: Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
9PM – 10PM: Desperate Housewives
10PM – 11PM: Brothers and Sisters
There ya have it, folks! Of course, midseason replacements are bound to show up sooner or later. We’ll cover those as necessary. Check back tomorrow for CBS’s fall schedule (which I now hate…well, you’ll hear enough about that tomorrow). Until then, Wingz out!
