May Upfronts: What does FOX have in store for 09-10?

Well, May upfronts started today! I’m a big TV nerd, so this is the time of the year I keep up with news like my life depended on it. Some things make me happy about this and some don’t (read: CBS, watch your back!). More on all that later. FOX presented their upcoming schedule and I think this might be one of the few times FOX might be competitive before Idol kicks off! Check below to see what’s around, what’s gone, and what’s new!

Mondays:

8PM – 9PM: House, MD ~ On the heels of a “game-changing” finale, FOX brings back one of its hottest shows. Look for more drama and surprises as this show returns next season!

9PM – 10PM: Lie to Me ~ One of the few successful mid-season replacements/freshman dramas will be coming back! The show has proven since premiering this spring, and FOX might be helping it by pairing it with Dr. Gregory House.

Tuesday:

8PM – 10PM: So You Think You Can Dance: Performance Show ~ The show’s 6th season won’t be premiering next summer because FOX has brought it to the big leauges! SYTYCD premiers their summer season next week, and FOX will hope its success carries on into the Fall. Only problem I see with that is that it might be SYTYCD overload, but if the talent is anywhere near last season, they won’t have a problem! Plus, I LOVE Cat Deeley!

Wednesday:

8PM – 9PM: So You Think You Can Dance: Results Show ~ Voters will have their say the previous night and dancers will be eliminated one by one as the competition goes on.

9PM – 10PM: Glee ~ This new dramedy musical promises to be a HIT. FOX will be giving viewers a sneak peek after Tuesday night’s part of the American Idol Finale. You can catch an extended preview on FOX.com. It’s like High School Musical, only much better!

Thursday:

8PM – 9PM: Bones ~ On the heels of a 2 season renewal, Bones returns this fall kicking off Thursday nights, yet again. Why fix something that isn’t broken, right?

9PM – 10PM: Fringe ~ This J.J. Abrams sci-fi, twisted show barely made a second season, but it’s back! Following Bones might be the thing this show needs to pick up some steam. They might have to do a recap to pick up new viewers, though!

Friday:

8PM – 8:30PM: Brothers ~ One of the handful of new shows FOX plumped on their schedule is a comedy about a former NFL hotshot realizing it’s not always the same going home. Starring: Michael Strahan Click here for video preview (Copyright FOX).

8:30PM – 9PM: Til’ Death ~ Many critics think this show should have never aired in the first place. FOX apparently thinks otherwise. This comedy is back and on Fridays.

9PM – 10PM: Dollhouse ~ Probably my favorite renewal of the season (along with Chuck, but that’s a different story). This show is so intrguing and FOX decided to give it another chance! Don’t miss the next Joss Whedon cultish hit!

Saturday:

8PM – 9PM: Cops ~ I think everyone knows what this is about.

9PM – 10PM: America’s Most Wanted ~ Another FOX staple.

11PM – 12PM: The Wanda Sykes Show ~ FOX has brought back Wandy Sykes, but this time in her own variety show for latenight Saturday!

Sunday:

8PM – 8:30PM: The Simpsons ~ Around now for 20 years, it doesn’t look like FOX is gonna let this one go.

8:30PM – 9PM: The Cleveland Show ~ Another of FOX’s new meat. This new show will join the Animation Domination on Sundays, sandwiched by The Simpsons and Family Guy.

9PM – 9:30PM: Family Guy ~ Didn’t see that one disappearing anytime soon.

9:30PM – 10PM: American Dad ~ Never seen it, don’t care to.

Well, folks. There ya have it! FOX has plenty more in store come mid-season, but I really do think this Fall they might have found a good formula!

Check back tomorrow for NBC and ABC! Till then, Wingz, out!
