Earlier Tuesday, NBC announced it’s plans for their midseason schedule. With returning favorites and a couple new shows, NBC hopes to continue to build on the momentum this fall has brought them. As we announced earlier, Community FINALLY has a premiere date. The cult favorite will return Feb 7 at 8pm ET, once 30 Rock has finished its final season. If you recall, NBC pushed back the premieres of Community and Whitney earlier this season. Whitney will premiere November 14 at 8/7c, taking over Animal Practice‘s slot.
Now, on to the “news.” NBC’s new drama, Deception, is set to premiere Monday Jan 7 at 10/9c, replacing Revolution, which will take a hiatus until late March. Check out a preview for Deception below. NBC is bringing back two fan favorite reality competitions. The Biggest Loser will start to shed weight with a special premiere on Jan 6 (9-11pm ET) and in its regular Monday night time slot at 8pm ET. The Voice will premiere its 4th season on Monday March 25 – setting it to air original episodes clear through June, which is an interesting new tactic NBC is trying out.
Everyone’s favorite broadway Bombshell hits the small screens as Smash returns on a new night – Tuesday Feb 5 at 9pm ET, which a special 2-hour premiere before claiming new ground on Tuesday nights at 10pm ET starting Feb 12. Parenthood’s season will end in January.
NBC will roll out Betty White’s Off Their Rockers with two special episodes starting Jan 8 at 8/7c. As for the rest of NBC’s comedies, Thursday is getting a makeover. Kicking off the night (as mentioned above) is Community. Parks & Rec will move to 8:30pm ET starting Jan 10, followed by The Office. 1600 Penn, a new comedy (preview below), will move in at 9:30 ET, beginning Jan 10. As for Up All Night, remember that we reported earlier that the show is being retooled and will return in the Spring.
Finally, Trump returns with the Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars (meet the cast here) on March 3 (9pm ET) with four special two-hour episodes before cutting down to one-hour episodes on March 31. Eva Longoria’s new reality series, Ready For Love, hosted by Bill and Giuliana Rancic, premieres March 31 at 8/7c.
