Well, here’s a twist in the story if you’ve ever wanted one. Reports are surfacing that NBC is considering an attempt to change the television landscape once again, albeit, no where near as bad as making Geico cavemen into primetime TV. Talks are currently being held to see if Thursday night can be all comedy, all night. With Parks & Recreation planned for a midseason return and a freshman comedy in the wings, NBC may replace The Apprentice with another hour of comedy when the current installment ends this year. No word yet on what exactly will air when, but rumors are swirling that 30 Rock will get the move to 10pm EST and Outsourced to 10:30pm. This will open up Parks & Rec to follow Community and for The Office to be a lead in for NBC’s latest comedy hopeful, Perfect Couples. Perfect Couples is said to be about “the misadventures of three engaging couples as they struggle to find out what makes the ideal relationship — and how to maintain it through humorous trial-and-error.”
Nothing official has been released by NBC regarding the rumored changes, but do they really have anything to lose at this point? A 3 hour comedy block could provide some positive buzz for the network, something it hasn’t received much of lately. Do you think the change would be for better or worse? Are you going to check out Perfect Couples? What about the move for Tina Fey and Co? Sound off below and join our FORUMS to discuss what you think!
