The networks of NBC Universal are getting together to benefit those affected by the devastating Hurricane Sandy earlier this week. Earlier today, NBC announced that they will air a special telethon airing Friday November 2 at 8pm ET. In addition to NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA will also carry the television event.
The special will be broadcast live from Rockefeller Plaza in New York and will be hosted by Today’s Matt Lauer. Money collected from the event will be donated to the American Red Cross Sandy efforts. The hour will feature performances by artists including Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and Sting, as well as appearances by Jimmy Fallon and Brian Williams.
To donate, people can visit www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
Note: Monday’s encore presentation of Revolution previously slated for 8pm ET has been moved to 10pm ET, following an all-new Grimm.
