Earlier Thursday, NBC announced more concrete details regarding their plan to air the pilot of their anticipated The Munsters reboot, now titled Mockingbird Lane. As part of a special “Creepy Cauldron” Friday, as they have called it, the pilot that was to be for the The Munsters reboot will get a one-hour special on October 26, followed by a special haunting Grimm.
The fate of the potential series has been up in the air for weeks now, even though creator Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daises) tweeted this week that the project hadn’t flatlined. However, according to THR, Fuller and director Bryan Singer have different visions for the $10 million project and NBC was not pleased with the final product. Let’s not forget that NBC might be airing this pilot as a special to test the waters. If it does well, I’m sure the powers that be might consider ordering it as a full series. The special haunting episode of Grimm will center around the legend of La Llorona (“The Weeping Woman”), an enduring tale from Latin American folklore that tells of a distraught mother who drowned her children and then herself.
“Mockingbird Lane” is a new reimagined version of the classic 1960s comedy “The Munsters,” starring Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as his wife Lily, Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, Mason Cook as Eddie and Charity Wakefield as Marilyn. If you remember, the Munsters lived at 1313 Mockingbird Lane.

And in similar news only because the air dates precede the Halloween holiday, NBC has officially announced with the Knockout Rounds of The Voice will take place. In two special two-hour episodes, airing Monday Oct 29 and Tuesday Oct 30 at 8/7c, the hit singing competition will unveil a new round to the competition, pitting up teammates against one another in a way never before seen. From NBC, the artists will be paired again with a member of their team, but this time they find out only minutes before performing who they are being compared against. The artists each select their own song to perform individually, while their direct competitor watches and waits. They are vying for their coach’s confidence and decision to take them to the live shows. Their coach will choose the winner and the artist not selected will be sent home. From here, the LIVE shows will kick off on November 5 and America will then vote for their favorites!
On October 30, Go On and The New Normal will air at special times, starting at 10pm EST.
