Granted, those of us with lives might not be able to spend our summers indoors watching network TV, but here’s a guide if you don’t fall into the “with-a-life” category! CBS:
Harper’s Island continues its saga until mid-July. The wedding murder mystery is well underway and will continue to lead us through its twists and turns until the finale in July where the killer will be revealed. Follow the drama Saturdays at 9PM.
Million Dollar Password makes a return to CBS this summer. Follow this classic game show “re-done” this summer as Regis Philbin hosts. Catch the show’s premiere on May 24.
Big Brother returns for yet another wacky season this summer! CBS has not announced its premiere date, but it usually falls towards the beginning of July. (Rumor has it on July 7th) Check often right here on YakkityYaks for up-to-the minute Big Brother breaking news all summer long!
NBC:
I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here makes a return to the small screen this summer for its second season. Follow this kooky show if you’re a fan of low-list celebs! Show premieres on June 1 @ 8PM.
The Great American Road Trip makes its summer debut on July 7. The show has an Amazing Race-esque feel as families travel around large and small American cities competing in “humorous” and comical challenges. A winner will be named in August.
America’s Got Talent hits American airwaves on June 23 @ 9PM on the heels of Britain’s successful season. Does America have as much talent? Be sure to not miss this hit show this summer!
The Philanthropist is one of the few dramas the networks are airing this summer. This show chronicles a playboy billionaire turned philanthropist. Catch the show’s premiere and make your choice on June 24 @ 10PM.
The Listener is the other of NBC’s creatively named summer drama series. This show follows a telepathic paramedic who tries to help the patients he encounters. The show premieres June 4 @ 10PM.
Chopping Block is NBC’s canceled “hit” they decided to bring back to completion this summer. Follow this kitchen reality series with its unaired episodes returning June 19 @ 8PM.
Kings is the other canceled “hit” NBC is bringing back this summer. Catch the show’s unaired episodes starting June 13 @ 8PM.
Merlin was supposed to make last fall’s schedule, but didn’t. The show takes place in Camelot and updates the story of the Arthurian sorceror. Catch this “historical” show started June 21 @ 8PM.
ABC:
The Bachellorette, ABC’s summer pride, makes a return on May 18 @ 9PM. Catch this summer’s suitors and bachellorette and follow the drama all summer long.
Here Comes the Newlyweds returns for another season as couples are put through mental and physical challenges at a chance for help jumpstarting their futures. The show’s 2nd season premieres May 25 @ 10PM.
