Oscar Week: Meet The Nominees, Part III

Welcome to our midweek edition of Oscar Week’s Meet The Nominees! Can you believe it’s only four days to the Oscars?

First up, our third Best Actor nominee, Jesse Eisenberg for The Social Network! Eisenberg plays the controversial yet entrepreneurial Mark Zuckeberg, founder of Facebook. The Social Network tells the tale of how Facebook came about, and the drama surrounding Zuckerberg’s quest to create a social network on the world wide web. Roger Ebert states of Eisenberg’s performance “Eisenberg, who has specialized in playing nice or clueless, is a heat-seeking missile in search of his own goals.” Either way, he had a finesse in his approach to this role that was a definite turn from his usual likeable/clueless characters and is more than deserving of the accolades he’s received.
