The fifth nominated film for Best Picture is The King’s Speech. This is based on the true story of the current Queen of England’s father and the incredible friendship he had with Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue. King George VI became king suddenly when his brother Edward steps down to marry a previously divorced woman, a no-no for the time. However, he has a very bad stammer, which renders him unable to confidently find his voice for his people. This is where Logue steps in, to help King George VI find his voice to lead his people into war. An amazing work of art, this movie has garnered rave reviews from everyone who has seen it.
