Oscar Week: Meet The Nominees, Part III

Last of the Best Picture Nominees for today, we have 127 Hours. This is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston’s quest to save himself after a boulder crashes down on his arm, trapping him in an isolated Utah canyon. In the five days that follow, he examines his life and weathers the elements to find out that he has enough inner courage and smarts to get himself out of there by whatever means are necessary. But it doesn’t end there, he has to pull himself up a 65 foot wall, then hike 8 miles to rescue. Throughout it all, he reflects on friends, family and two hikers he meets before becoming trapped. It’s a remarkable trail of guts, courage and reflection of missed relationships, one not to be missed.
