Tammy/Victor win The Amazing Race 14!!! A Retrospective On The Season.

Well folks, it’s over. Another season of The Amazing Race has come and gone and with it, we have winners! Tammy and Victor Jih, siblings from San Francisco and Los Angeles, California were declared the winners of The Amazing Race 14 after crossing the finish line first, naturally. All three of the final three teams had been bunched up at the final roadblock, the surfboard fence, where each person had to remember events from each leg, find a surfboard with the correct symbols and put them in the right order. Luke and Margie, mother and son, had been ahead at this challenge, arriving first and Luke having correctly placed the first 9 of 11 boards, but became caught on the last two. Cheerleaders and friends, Jaime and Cara caught up with the other two teams, and in the end their team and Luke and Margie helped each other to finish but ultimately Tammy and Victor finished first, got a lucky cab and claimed the one million dollars.

In my opinion this has been one of the better seasons of the reality season, in the fact that I didn’t dislike any of the last three teams and was happy with whoever won. My personal preference as a sentimental favorite was Margie and Luke, but I liked all three. But let’s take a look back at all the teams and some thoughts from our forum members on the season as a whole.

Celebrities We’ve Lost

Here we are in May and we’ve already lost too many celebrities. While we are aware that we get older every year, it seems that we tend to forget that the celebrities we grew up watching age, as well. It’s likely that we remember them at the age that we last saw them, so at first thought, we’re shocked that they’ve passed. It’s very sad that their lives came to an end, but for most of them, they lived a long, successful life and passed on knowing that through the years they’ve entertained millions of people.
These are the people that we’ve lost in 2009:

American Idol, Final Three

[singlepic ID=65 h=190 w=130 float=left] Tonight, we say a sad farewell to Allison Iraheta off of the Idol stage, leaving the final three of Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. Yes, I do call bullshit, but what can one do? The damage cannot be undone. However, I still believe that Allison will be bigger than any of those left. I still believe that she will own her career. She is a genuine rocker, and will spin this thing around quite quickly. If I could have picked a song for Allison to sing tonight to say goodbye? “So What” by Pink.

Is Stopping To Pee Worth A Million Bucks??????

[singlepic ID=57 h=190 w=130 float=left] In probably what is one of THE dumbest moves in The Amazing Race history, Kisha and Jen, sisters and one of the final four teams in The Amazing Race 14, lost the slot in the final three by mere SECONDS due to Jen stopping to urinate. Yes, you heard me right. She stopped to pee and thusly lost the last slot to Jamie and Cara. By SECONDS.

Now, to explain why she stopped to pee, at the Roadblock challenge she had to eat various local cuisines, including grasshoppers and starfish. Hard to swallow, absolutely, so she drank four bottles of water during the challenge in order to complete it.

American Idol 4/28

Let me start by telling you, before I start my ramble about American Idol tonight, that we WILL be getting more writers for the site soon. Why am I telling you this? Well, I am pretty sure with the popularity of Adam Lambert, that you are getting kinda sick and tired of my rants about dislike for this guy. So, keep that in mind… new writers, many that love him just like you do, coming soon to a YakkityYaks near you.

Ok, time for my critique, not that I am the connoisseur, especially when it comes to Rat Pack night. I am a pure rocker chick at heart… so this one is a little hard for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Frank and Dean sometimes. But… FRANK and DEAN, not people singing Frank and Dean. I thought I was gonna be bored, and sometimes I was… just not as bored as I thought I would be. We will start with:

Kris Allen – The Way You Look Tonight – Kris did okay. I wasn’t overly impressed, but wasn’t throwing things at the TV either. That has to be a good thing right? I don’t want my TV to look like those phony YouTube videos of the Wii remote cracking the screen. I mean, that would suck! Wait… I got off track there. Oh yeah, Kris… ummm… Decent start to the show I guess.
