‘Red Dawn’ To Be Remade, Casting News!!!

Yes, yes, YES, the 1984 drama ‘Red Dawn”, a story about a group of high school students who take refuge in the Colorado mountains after being invaded by Russian and Cuban forces and then rebel…”WOLVERINES!!!”…..will be remade! This should be interesting!

The movie, which originally starred Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey, Charlie Sheen, C. Thomas Howell amongst others, will tell the story but in a different setting. In this turn, the “Wolverines” will be yes, led by Jed Eckert, who is a Marine at home on leave in Spokane WA, when the country is invaded by Chinese and Russian forces.

 Jed Eckert, Swayze’s original role, will be played this time around by Chris Hemsworth (he played Kirk’s father in the latest Star Trek film). Matt Eckert, Charlie Sheen’s first film role, will be played this time by Josh Peck who is best known for being “Josh” on Nickelodeon’s “Josh and Drake”.

Toni Mason, which was originally played by Jennifer Grey (her and Swayze’s FIRST film together before the infamous ‘Dirty Dancing’), will now be played by ‘Friday Night Lights’ vet Adrianne Palicki. And that’s all the casting news we have for this sure to be exciting 2010 film. Stay tuned!
