So You Think You Can Dance – and the winner is…

For those of you that watch SYTYCD, what a terrific season finale it was last night. The top 4 dancers were definitely the most deserving of the bunch… America certainly got it right this time. The final four consisted of Jakob, Russell, Ellenore and Kathryn, and to this watcher, those were the best of the best. If I could have thrown one in for top 5, Legacy would have been there as well. Mad MAD props to Jakob, who seriously, could do no wrong. AMAZING dancer. Just amazing.

However, the ultimate winner was…….. Russell! He deserved it for sure. What a great dancer and entertainer. It was a hard choice for me… I wanted Russell AND Jakob to win this thing, but alas, there could only be one winner. Russell, coming from Krump, did exceptional, like he has been doing all the other styles from the get go. He suffered two set-backs on the show, twice when who he was partnered up with had an injury, and he had to dance with stand-ins, but that didn’t even slow him down. Nigel put it best last night when he said “Jakob is a polished diamond, and Russell is a diamond in the rough” – Exactly right on. Both were so very deserving of this. Last nights results made me so proud.
