“Survivor: One World” ~ This Week’s Lowest Bidder…

Let me just say straight off the bat that I firmly believe that Tarzan has a secret alliance with a woman or women that we have not seen and know nothing about. I sense a Colby/Tina disclosure at the finale. This is the only reasoning I come up with after this weeks’ tribal council.

This weeks’ episode starts with the return from tribal council after Troy played his idol and Jay was voted out. Troy mistakenly thought Christina was on his side and approached her about it. Alicia doesn’t even allow Christina to answer Troy and immediately tells him not to attack Christina. I find that funny coming from someone who repeatedly attacked Christina at the beginning of the season. Troy defends himself and insists loudly that he has a right to ask a question. The women are defensive and make it clear they want Troy gone. Troy is painfully aware of this and realizes any alliances he may have had are gone.

The next morning the tribe receives tree mail and they are invited to the Survivor auction. Troy says he will save his 500.00 in order to buy any advantage in the game. He talks with Chelsea and says he deserves to be there especially more than four other people who have done nothing. Chelsea says it’s just a game, don’t take it personal and take it like a man like Jonas did. Troy says he has a right to be angry and he’s not going to just lie down and let the women have their way. Troy makes a sexist comment about how the women on Survivor are acting like women in the real world by tossing you out after they have taken everything from you that they want.

REWARD CHALLENGE: AUCTION

The Survivors arrive at the auction and Jeff explains that you cannot share items or pool money. The usual food items are for sale and a shower, which Kim buys for 40.00. This brings us to the letters from home. Alicia immediately snaps hers up for 500.00. Tarzan decides to buy his letter from home for 500.00 as well. Here we go; it’s the advantage in the immunity challenge. Troy has spent zero of his money so has 500.00 to bet with. Christina has the same but she decides not to bid against Troy in the end and he buys the advantage for 420.00. Troy is livid that all of the women pushed Christina to bid against him in order to keep him from buying the advantage. He cries that he is all alone and it’s the rest of the tribe vs. him. Leif and Tarzan are invisible at this point.

Troy finds that the advantage he purchased in the immunity challenge allows him to immediately advance to the second round of a 3 round immunity challenge. He’s very happy with his purchase and vows to fight to win immunity knowing he has to in order to stay in the game. He decides to look for another immunity idol or at least fool the other survivors into thinking he has one. He puts a clump of bark in his pocket and zips it up. The other tribe mates start looking as well and they speculate on him finding the idol. Troy states, “You put fear in people’s hearts and you can scramble them a little bit.”

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE:

The tribe arrives at the immunity challenge. For some reason Leif has painted himself blue and resembles a Smurf. Jeff Probst takes back the individual immunity necklace from Chelsea. He then explains the rules of this individual immunity challenge, which consists of 3 rounds. In the first round, they will race to untangle knotted ropes. (This is the season of the knotted ropes people!!) The first four (including Troy) to finish will move onto the next round, where they will race up a stack of crates and then bounce a coconut off a trampoline attempting to knock out their targets. The first two will move onto the final round where they will use a slingshot to fire coconuts at a wall of targets.

The first person to knock out three targets in a row wins immunity and is guaranteed a one in eight shot at winning this game. Jeff asks Troy to read the advantage that he purchased at the auction out loud to let his tribe mates know that he automatically advances to the second round. In the first round, everyone except Troy competes to untie the rope and free the ring at the top. Tarzan, Kim and Christina finish this first round before the others and move onto the second round with Troy. In the second round, Tarzan and Troy knock out their three targets with coconuts before the others, therefore advancing them to the final round. As he moves on to the final round, Troy shouts, “This is my island. You can’t beat me.” Troy wins immunity beating out Tarzan in a close comp. As he goes over to Jeff to get his immunity necklace, he tells the tribe, “Don’t F with me.” The rest of the tribe tells him to shut up and Sabrina says “please someone send him home.”

Back at camp in a moment of irony that can only be called “Tarzanity” Tarzan gives advice to Troy telling him that he shouldn’t boast when he wins but should act “noble.” He says, “It looks bad.” I seriously cannot believe that this is coming from someone like Tarzan who has acted like a crazy, demented ranting lunatic so far this season.

The girls scramble for a new plan. Kim and Chelsea, the powers that be think it’s a bad idea to vote out a girl. They feel strongly that it would send a bad message and they’d definitely freak out the remaining girls. Troy decides to talk strategy with Leif, Tarzan, Christina and Alicia. He tells Leif and Tarzan, you’re going now unless you do something to save yourselves. He tells Alicia and Christina they are obviously on the bottom of the totem pole. He proposes that they all vote to evict Kim tonight and then they would have the numbers and the four Kim, Chelsea, Kat and Sabrina could be sent home one by one. Alicia and Christina tell Troy that they will consider this option. Troy
can only hope someone has listened.

TRIBAL COUNCIL: Jeff asks Troy about his recent behavior, as there is obviously bad blood and tension at Tribal council. Troy explains by saying, “That’s just my competitive juices coming out and that’s just the way that I play.” Sabrina agrees that he a great competitor, but is disturbed by Troy’s recent actions and attitude. She then cautions Troy that in order to win, “You have to be somewhat likable.” Troy basically tells Sabrina to stuff it and not tell him what to do. Troy openly discusses his reasonable plan that Tarzan, Leif, he, Alicia and Christina should vote out Kim and annihilate the women’s four strong alliance. Kim chimes in that Troy doesn’t really know who is with who, which makes me think she has a secret alliance with Tarzan. Christina and Alicia are not sure if now is the right time to make a big move and switch alliances. It’s time to vote!

Not surprisingly Leif is voted out and becomes the fourth member of the jury. Leif is the only one who went for Troy’s plan to vote out Kim. Too little, too late Leif. Tarzan votes out Leif (please refer to the first sentence in this recap) and the girls split the vote between Leif and Tarzan in case an idol is played.

Are there any surprises in store at all or will Kim, Sabrina, Chelsea and Kat continue to pick off the remaining Survivors. Until next week, outwit, outplay, outlast…..
