“I’m Playing With a Bunch of Bitches” spews Russell on episode 3 of Survivor Redemption Island…
Matt, voted off of Ometepe on epi 2, makes his way to Redemption Island. Francesca is completely surprised that Matt arrives, fully expecting to see Phillip. Matt explains that he was completely blindsided by Boston Rob and that he feels like a total fool. Matt and Francesca receive tree mail telling them about their pending duel to stay in the game.
Back at camp each tribe is given a bag of stones and by random pick 2 people from each tribe get to witness the duel between Matt and Francesca at Redemption Island. Andrea is thrilled that she gets to go because she wants to see Matt desperately and wants him to know she did not vote for him.
The duel is the Survivor classic competition; tie sticks together to make your stick long enough to retrieve 3 keys and unlock 3 gates for a chance to stay in the game. Francesca started out quickly ahead but Matt got back in the game and ended up winning the challenge. Bye Bye Francesca. Matt is then told to return to Redemption Island and await his next competitor. Matt was very disappointed that he didn’t get to return to Ometepe. He hates being alone on the island.
Back at Ometepe Rob tries to assure Andrea that it was an important strategic move to get rid of Matt and implicated that 4 other people wanted him gone because of their close connection. He assured Andrea that she was still in the alliance and apologized for ousting Matt. Andrea listened but during her interview stated that she doesn’t believe him and that she has some scheming of her own to do.
Rob then tells Philip that he was the 5th person in their alliance. Rob and Grant are in an alliance (I call that the HOTTIE alliance!) plus the other two girls and Phillip now the 5th. They told Phillip that he should win the academy award for his performance at tribal council last week. In truth, Phillip didn’t even know what was going on, he just voted for who Rob told him to. The stroking of Phillip begins, Rob says he is aware that he’s a loose cannon, but it’s safer to have a loose cannon in your own alliance.
Over At Zapetera the tribe is split into two alliances. Russell, Stephanie and Krista are one alliance led of course by Russell. The other six tribe members want nothing more than to get rid of Russell which Steve refers to as a cancer that has to be cut out. Russell has some nasty funk in his armpits from shaving apparently and lays around all day doing nothing for the tribe. The only thing the alliance of 3 does is look for the hidden immunity idol because they have the clue but don’t realize that Ralph already has the idol! Stephanie comes up with a plan to pretend that they found the hidden immunity idol by carrying a bag around on her shoulder day and night acting like she’s protecting it. Everyone speculates that there might be an idol in the bag, but they don’t trust Russell’s alliance. Steve comes up with the idea of throwing the challenge so they can vote out Russell. The six finally agree.
Challenge:
Another classic Survivor challenge from last season, the waterwheel challenge. Members turn a water wheel while two other members are strapped to it going under the water, filling their mouth full of it, and spitting it into a tube when they come up. The first one to fill up the tube releases a ball which rolls down the spout. The tribe member at the bottom can then begins working on the maze puzzle. Once the puzzle is completed, the ball is put into the maze and when it drops in place the challenge is over. Ometepe wins their first immunity challenge that also comes with some lounge chairs, pillows, blankets and tarps! (man it’s getting way to cushy on survivor for me!)
At the Ometepe tribe, Rob finds the clue to the hidden immunity idol back in play after Kristine played it last week. It was hidden in the lounge chair under the fabric, “right under Phillips fat ass!” he states.
Russell, astute as he is, realizes that his tribe threw the challenge so that they could vote him off. He tells Stephanie that they need a fourth. He tells her to “talk to the old lady” referring to Julie the 50 year old firefighter from Oceanside California. (Hey Russell you wienie 50′s not old and I think she could take you!!!) Stephanie, always ready to lick Russell’s feet, runs off to talk to Julie. She tells Julie they have an idol and that they need a 4th. Julie calmly listens and apparently implies to Stephanie that she’d consider it. Stephanie runs back to report to her lord and master Russell that Julie is in! Russell then goes and talks to Julie. Russell says “if you do this I have your back and I will take you with us to the end.” They do a fist hit. (whatever). Stephanie, completely blinded by Russell’s greatness (LOL), says this will be the biggest blindside in Survivor history! (Gimme a break little girl!)
Tribal Council
Man oh man that Stephanie is just not shutting her little yappy mouth. She is bashing everyone and calling them stupid for not realizing that Russell is the best thing since sliced bread and that they are idiots for throwing the challenge. Mike says they need to trim some fat in their tribe, meaning Russell.
Moment of truth: Ralph does not play his idol, he doesn’t really know that Russell, Stephanie, Krista and possibly Julie are voting for him.
Jeff (sigh) reads the results, 3 votes Russell, 3 votes Stephanie, 3 votes Ralph. It’s a 3 way tie and now a re-vote. All this time he’s pretty sure Julie is voting out Ralph and going along with the plan, but he’s no dummy on survivor and knows there’s a good chance he’s going to Redemption Island.
The re-vote; Julie stays true to her alliance and Russell is voted out as the third person this season. He’s off to Redemption Island to compete with Matt for the right to stay in the game. Stephanie looks at Julie and says “Storm’s a-comin.” Russell leaves the game saying, “I’m coming back and you better be ready!” Ralph replies “I’ll be ready!”
Another great episode. My dream would be to have Boston Rob and Russell duke it out at redemption island as long as Rob ends up the winner! What do you think? Are you a Russell or Rob fan?
