Last nights episode included a twist which turned out to have a predictable result but more on that later.
Great news!! Phillip found his shorts!! Julie as a last ditch effort to stir up something hid them last week before being sent to Redemption Island. Phillip, ever the secret agent, managed to decipher the clues Julie left in order to find his shorts. Thank you Lord!!!!
All tribe members were invited to Redemption Island challenge to witness which one of the three on Redemption would become the second member of the jury. Matt is finding solace alone on the beach trying to figure out why God still wants him in the game. Julie and Mike feel bad for Matt because he appears sad and broken. Entering the challenge arena Andrea looks at Matt and Matt gives her a dirty look. Andrea in a rare moment of emotional intelligence realizes that she stabbed Matt in the back and knows that he won’t be talking to her again. (Oh what could have been…)
The challenge is Survivor Skeeball. The first two who get their skeets in the endzone go back to redemption and are still in the game. The loser becomes the second jury member. Matt gets 3 skeets in the endzone and he’s the first to move on. Mike gets his 3skeets and Julie loses the challenge. Jeff asks Julie why she played the game. Julie states that like a lot of Americans her house is in foreclosure and she would like a better life for her daughters. She is also so impressed by Matt’s faith that she can’t wait to get back home and find a church. (Is Julie possibly gunning for “fan favorite?” or is she just that impressed with Matt’s unshakeable faith?)
As she throws her buff in the fire she shouts “I love you guys” and “peanut butter and chocolate!” She knows at the Ponderosa she’ll have her hearts desires.
Back at camp Andrea talks to the former Zapatera tribemates and states that she feels sorry for Matt. Ding, Ding, Ding, Rob and the other members of his alliance take this comment to heart and Rob and Grant start discussing getting rid of Andrea before the remaining Zapatera, just in case Matt makes it back into the game. Matt has spent 21 days on Redemption Island and only 7 days in the game of survivor. He has won 7 challenges so his strength and his faith are keeping him going!
The immunity challenge also holds a reward. A giant chocolate cake and ice cold milk will be the reward for the person who wins immunity. The event is log rolling. Two people will pair up and the winner of that event will move on. The first to challenge are Rob and Grant. Although Rob is great in challenges there seems to be no equal to Grant who is graceful, athletic, strong, hot and has the balance of a gymnast. Grant wins his event. Next up are Andrea and Ashley. Ashley beats Natalie and moves on. Steve and Ralph compete and Ralph beats Steve. Phillip and Natalie compete and Phillip wins. In the final round Grant beats Ralph and wins immunity AND the chocolate cake. Jeff says he can pick two people to share the cake and milk with, he chooses Rob and Andrea. Grant says in his interview that picking Andrea was strategic because if they were going to vote her off he didn’t want her to suspect it.
Jeff hands over a package to the tribe and tells them NOT to open it until they’re told to at tribal council. Is it epil stop-n-spay???? Please tell me it’s so. Back at camp Steve and Ralph have a conversation about who is being voted out tonight. Because no sub-titles were provided I cannot tell you Ralphs end of the conversation. In fact Steve had to ask Ralph to repeat himself numerous times because he couldn’t understand him either! The gist of the conversation was that Ralph felt he would be voted out prior to Steve because Steve appears weak and frail and pretty much has zero game. Steve decides to shake things up and he goes to Ashley and Natalie and tells them that he and Ralph are voting for Rob tonight and if they want to change the game up they’d be wise to cast their votes for Rob as well. He says Rob’s plan is to go to the finals and take “Nimrod” with him. (meaning Phillip). Of course that is Rob’s plan because as Steve says “none of us will vote for “Nimrod.”
The girls decide that they need to tell Rob about what Steve proposes. Rob then thinks about the “twist” that will be presented at tribal and decides that they have to pick two people they will vote out in case the twist is to vote out a second person immediately after the first tribal vote.
They decide to put Andrea on the back burner and vote off Ralph and then Steve.
Tribal council: Jeff tries to start controversy and to cast doubt on Rob’s allegiance to his alliance. Steve brings up Rob stabbing people in the back to further he and Amber in allstars insinuating that he is never true to his alliance. Rob says he is true to his alliance to this day, which is Amber who ended up winning allstars.
Predictability abounds when Ralph is voted out and sent to Redemption Island.
Ah,,,, here comes the twist. Each player is given a set of tiles and they must play for immunity right then and there and vote out yet another tribe member. Gee, Rob you’re right again!!! Good thing you had that conversation back at camp. The challenge is that each player must hold up their tiles in the order that Jeff presents them. Mr. “Mind like a steel trap”, Boston Rob wins immunity. A second vote is taken and Steve is off to redemption island.
Jeff says “well Zapatera’s gone, now it gets ugly.” Wait Jeff , Zapatera is not at all gone!!!! There are three members of Zapatera at redemption island all with a chance to get back in the game!! Mike, Ralph, Steve and the lonely Matt are all at Redemption Island, all waiting for a chance to come back and get Rob out of the game!
Until next week!
