Where do I begin? Mike tells Rob that it was a brilliant move to send Matt back to redemption island last week. David states that Rob’s running of his alliance is strictly “mob style.” (dude, he’s Rob of course he’s mob style!) Julie calls him cold and heartless (dude he’s Rob of course he’s cold and heartless!) Mike calls the alliance the Mariano Crime Syndicate (way to psychologically demolish these people Rob!)
Rob is confident and cocky and is running the former Ometepe tribe like a general. He admits that he is “idol paranoid” and doesn’t want an errant idol to end his survivor life like it did last time. “Loose lips sink ships”. Rob initiates the “buddy” system for his six person alliance which include all former members of Ometepe. This means that you must be with someone at all times in your alliance so that you cannot be approached on the sly with any former Zapatera member who is trying to find the crack in the alliance. Regardless of this, Ralph approaches Ashley who is with Natalie and, if I have this right, asks her if he is on the chopping block this week. (Note to producers!! WE need subtitles for Ralph!) give him a shirt too while you’re at it.
Ashley says I don’t know anything. He says it doesn’t hurt to ask and she tells him she can’t discuss anything regarding her alliance. Ralph offers to vote for Ashley if she makes final three. Natalie asks Ashley if she’s going to tell Rob about this conversation and Ashley says, no he doesn’t need to know. Natalie tells Rob about the conversation and Rob is a little “put out” that Ashley chose to keep this to herself and has stored this bit of info in his strategic brain for future use. Will Ashley be the first to go of the former Ometepe?
Phillip arrives at the immunity challenge with a bird feather on his head. Jeff of course, asks Phillip it’s signifigance. Phillip states that he’s had a strong meditation and was looking for a sign when this feather appeared out of “thin air.” He states that this is a good omen for “O-tempo” tribemates. Phillip seriously, how long were you a member of the Ometepe tribe and can’t pronounce the name? Francesqua is laughing somewhere. Phillip has become quite entertaining folks.
Challenge #1
Dig in the sand to find a bat and untie the knots. Break a tile with the bat. The first six make it through to round two. Round two consists of placing your head in a trough of water and filling up your mouth. Climb under the trough and spit your water into a tube. The first three move to the final round for immunity. For the final immunity round you must put together a mini version of the first redemption island puzzle. Grant (hottie, hot hot!!) wins immunity!!
Back at Mulronio (I still laugh at this tribe name based on a stuffed animal) the weather turns stormy. Ralph and David attempt to talk to Phillip without Rob around. Because of the “buddy system” Phillip is with Andrea and is basically grating and rude to Ralph and David and they eventually give up.
Tribal Council #1
Once again Jeff encourages Phillip to talk about his meditation. Phillip states that his late great-grandfather who is full-blooded Cherokee Indian had come to him during the meditation to advise him. Surprise! God’s not the only one who cares about the survivor outcome! Apparently the spirit world is a hotbed of survivor fans.
Former Zapatera members vote for Phillip hoping they won’t have to hear his crazy stories anymore. Robs alliance votes out Mike and he is sent to Redemption Island
Back at camp Rob lets Phillip know that he is on top with him. Rob interviews that Phillip is a tad crazy, but that he’s playing crazy as well and he’s not as crazy as he comes across. Phillip is being so abrasive to everyone that Rob thinks he and Natalie are perfect to bring to the final three. (You blew it Ashley). Phillip interviews that since he knows Boston Rob so well, he’s confident that Rob would see he’s perfect to bring to the final three. Is Phillip crazy or crazy like a fox??
Challenge, Tribal Council #2
Scaffolding is erected over a pool of water. The challenge is to hange from the scaffolding and the last one to fall wins immunity. But there’s a catch!!! An enormous pile of hamburgers sits on the table. Do you want to play for immunity or do you want to sit and eat burgers? Phillip and Steve choose to sit and eat burgers and the rest of the tribe plays for immunity.
Rob is the first to fall, Grant follows close behind. Ralph and David and Julie are hanging in for former Zapatera. Ralph and Julie bite the dust. This is a girls game. These endurance games are almost always won by the very lightweight agile girls and this is no exception. David finally gives in to leg cramps and that leaves Ashley, Natalie and Andrea. Andrea tells the other girls she really wants this one so they drop and Andrea wins immunity!!
What to do, What to do? The Stealth R Us alliance (Phillip outs them at tribal council) decide to send David to redemption island. The former Zapatera pointlessly try to vote out Rob who has an immunity idol but didn’t bother to play it.
David heads off to redemption island to meet Matt and Mike.
Alliances are currently 6 to 3.
Previews for next week. Does Phillip really play the race card with Steve???? Stay tuned Survivor fans!
