So here we are watching this man run around in his pink “undies” and I’m wondering why anyone would go on this show not having boxes on instead. Oh well, I digress!
Redemption Island Duel
Grant and Rob get to go to the duel at Redemption Island along with Stephanie and Krista from the other tribe. Matt is dueling against Kristina. They have to put together a cube with the designs on the outside of the cube. You can watch them huff and puff moving the blocks around. At one point Jeff lets us know that the blocks are heavier than they look. Thanks Jeff! I kind of suspected they weren’t made of paper. It looks pretty even between Matt and Kristina. At one point, I thought Kristina had it, but no, she tore it all down. Then I thought Matt had it but he had to start over as well. It wasn’t as thrilling to watch as it was to see Matt defeat Russell. Ultimately, Matt wins the challenge, sending Kristina home. Matt, of course, is carrying on a conversation with Rob and Grant, asking why he was voted out. Rob tells him that more people voted him out than just Rob.
Stephanie, at the end of the duel, make it plain to Rob that she and Krista would vote with him when the merge happens. Did anyone tell Stephanie that she has to MAKE it to the merge? Obviously they didn’t. When they get back to camp, Stephanie and Krista talk about giving their votes to Rob when they merge. Clueless walks in the woods. Did ya know that?
While Rob and Grant were gone from their tribe, Ashley and Natalie are doing their normal thing, nothing. They don’t do anything around the camp, they just sit around and stare. I did think it was hilarious to see those pink “undies” in the face of Ashley though. Andrea and Phillip talked a little bit. Phillip wasn’t his manic self in this episode or maybe they just didn’t show it. Both of them are actually on the outside looking in on Rob’s alliance. Andrea doesn’t really like the other two girls but she pretends well. She kind of hangs out with them, but when those two are lying on the beach, she’s gathering firewood. (Frankly I would have dumped it on them as I walked by). Andrea asked Phillip if he had ever put her name down or talked about voting her out and Phillip swore to her he hadn’t done that at all. (This is true.) Is there a possible alliance blooming there?
It’s one where you have a caller telling their blindfolded tribemates which way to go in a little maze. They have to pick up four bags of puzzle pieces from different spots. They take them back to a table and then the caller has to put the word puzzle together. They win immunity and a reward. Rob is the caller for one tribe while Stephanie is the caller for the other.
Rob does a smart thing… He has Grant in front with the rest of the tribe following. He gets them to the center and has everyone except Grant and Ashley stand right there. He directs only Grant and Ashley to the bags. This is really smart as he only has to worry about two people.
Stephanie, on the other hand, does a pretty good job of directing a couple of her tribe, but the rest are wandering around and calling out to her, especially Ralph. She constantly is telling Ralph to hush until she talks to him.
It’s pretty close at first until Grant and Ashley put those four bags on the table and Rob’s tribe is ahead, but the other tribe isn’t really that far behind. They get their four bags on the table. Rob and Stephanie open their bags. Rob was slow getting all four of his open while Stephanie just ripped through them. They both start putting the puzzle together. Stephanie has a major lead at that point and one of Rob’s puzzle pieces fell on the ground.
You can see the light go on in Rob’s head the minute he knows what the answer is, and he was smart enough to realize a piece had fallen off the table. The answer was “The Sweet Taste of Victory”. Stephanie just had a brain fade at some point. She had the first and last word but just couldn’t get the rest of them. Ometeppe won immunity and the reward which included coffee, donuts, croissants. Nice reward!
So back at the Zepeterra tribe, it’s pretty much a done deal. With both Stephanie and Krista having formed an early alliance with Russell, one of them is going home. Sarita, though, really wants to see David leave, but she’s not going to upset the apple cart at this time.
Tribal council was just boring. Krista points out that no one is talking about game play or anything like that. Mike (man this dude is hot) answers her and says there is strategy talk, she’s just not included. That’s the truth.
Finally we get to the vote. There are two votes for Steve, the ex NFL player, with the rest of the votes for Krista. That’s not a surprise.
From a personal standpoint, I found this episode to be a big letdown after Russell’s exit last week, but it looks like next week Phillip has a meltdown at the two lazy women. Maybe that will make stir things up a bit.
What did you think? Were you as bored as me with this latest episode? Who do you want to ultimately win? Let us know below!
