Big Brother 14: Interview with 3rd Place Finisher Danielle Murphree

Danielle Murphree, the final Big Brother 14 Juror

Before Big Brother 14 could reveal the Final 2, there was one more eviction and one more Houseguest to add to the Jury. That eviction happened to Danielle Murphree, who was ousted by Ian after his win during Part 3 of the Final HOH competition. Danielle took some time out of her busy post-Big Brother life and held an interview session with the Yak and other press to answer some burning questions from the fans about Shane, her regrets in the game and, of course, putting all her trust in Dan. Here is a what Danielle had to say to all the questions posed! Let us know your thoughts below!

~~~~~~~~~
Q: Hey, Danielle, thanks for talking with us! You sound like you’re doing much better today?
Danielle: Thanks! Yeah, I wasn’t doing too hot last night or this morning either.
Q: Shane didn’t seem to return your affection a whole lot until the very last week when you won the HOH and Veto. Knowing what you know now, do you think his feelings were to secure his safety or do you think they were genuine?
Danielle: I think Shane’s feelings are genuine and I think he was so afraid of having a showmance because of exactly what happened.
Q: Everything that Dan did and said this summer, the one thing that got me the most was when he told Shane that you were playing him (Shane) all along. Have you had a chance to discuss that win Dan and how did you feel about that final lie?
Danielle: When I found that out, I was livid. I’m still mad about it. Why would Dan even do that to me? I talked to Shane about it and I said it was totally, one hundred percent not true. I was never playing him. Dan was just trying to run me under the bus for whatever reason. Dan and I haven’t talked about it. Dan and I are not on speaking terms.
Q: Do you think that will change in the future?
Danielle: I don’t know. I found out a lot of stuff last night after the finale that I’m just really not happy with at all. Right now, I can really answer that question. I’m too mad.
Q: One thing that a lot of your neigh Sayers wanted to know about was when you were telling stories about yourself; you embellished your life resume a lot, including talking about your breasts and being Miss Alabama.
Danielle: I never said I was Miss Alabama. My best friend was Miss Alabama. When we talked about Miss Alabama, it was a joke. They were making fun of my Memory Wall picture because they said it looked like Miss Alabama, like a pageant photo. They knew I was never Miss Alabama. I said I did pageant back in high school. About my boobs, I do have a capsule on my right breast, like a scar tissue mass, and I do have to have it removed. It’s nothing serious, but it does need to be changed.
Q: As the season unfolded, it seems like people underestimated you, so are you underestimated in your daily life?
Danielle: I guess people underestimate me because some people might think I’m too sweet or naïve, where I don’t really know what’s going on. It doesn’t really bother me because I know who I am.
Big Brother 14’s Dan Gheesling & Danielle Murphree
Q: Going back to Dan, you said you’re not talking to him right now, but how long do you think it’ll take you to get over it?
Danielle: I have no idea. Some of the comments he’s made during the interviews since the show ended are worse then some of the things that actually happened on the show.
Q: What did he say? What have you heard?
Danielle: I didn’t hear this directly from his mouth, but that he was really going to take Ian into the Final 2 and that the last speech at the finale was all for show. Whether it’s true or not, I’ll have to wait to see.
Q: As you now know, Dan used you during the whole game to further himself. Even towards the end when you used your Veto to save Dan and put Shane on the block, which compromised your position in the game. Did you know that Shane would possibly be evicted?
Danielle: I truly believed that Dan was going to save Shane. Dan had made a Final 3 with Shane and I. Dan swore to me, and even said to me in my HOH room, “I’ll do whatever you want if you’re HOH.” He was getting a little paranoid and I didn’t want him to pull any more antics on me. I didn’t want Shane to be the one to evict Ian to where Ian wouldn’t vote for Shane [to win]. I regret that decision wholeheartedly.
Q: Did you not think that this could have been another antic of his?
Danielle: He swore up and down to me, and I laugh about it now, about how he would never, ever do it again. His antics were over. He swore on everything, like 5 minutes before we had to sit down for that live show, that Shane was safe. I had no idea about him and Ian.
Q: With that being said, do you agree with what Wil had said during the Finale about how you should take responsibility for believing in Dan’s lies?
Danielle: Yeah, it’s my fault. He fooled me several times. It’s definitely my fault.
Q: After you sat down with the Jury, you appeared to lean over to say something to someone off camera, but the microphones didn’t pick up what you said. What were you trying to tell the Jury at that point?
Danielle: I was just asking Jenn what was going on. I wanted to know what the feeling was because when I sat down there was just a very awkward vibe in the Jury. Plus, I had just heard Britney’s comment before [about hoping she was the last Jury member], so I was just confused.
Q: Going back to some of the stories you told the other Houseguests that didn’t really seem accurate, was that a strategy you had or were you just playing with the other Houseguests? For example, when you came back and said that Janelle was yelling at you when we saw it was a very calm conversation or you said you made Ian cry.
Danielle: Ian did tear up. I did make him cry. I guess I exaggerated that a little bit. Yeah, Janelle didn’t yell at me. Janelle was very sweet with me. I guess it was more game play because I was more trying to test the waters with Dan to see, since I thought that him and Janelle might have some kind of deal. I exaggerated it a bit. It was poor game play. I shouldn’t have. I do apologize, but it wasn’t to maliciously hurt anybody.
Q: Despite everything that Dan kept doing to you, you kept going back to him. Why were you so willing to forgive him and try again?
Danielle: Dan would make the comment that he hadn’t done anything to hurt me in the game. When I would try to recall, he hadn’t hurt my game and he had never voted to evict me. I wanted to believe that he was a good person because I kept thinking back to season 10 and how he was a good guy. I was completely mystified by him.
Danielle sits with host Julie Chen
Q: Talking about Part 1 of the final HOH competition where you threw it to Dan after he proved his point with Ian jumping off, do you regret doing that now and if you hadn’t thrown it, do you think you could have outlasted him?
Danielle: I knew I had to make a decision up there. I knew if I hung on longer, I would lose his trust, and then even if I threw it, it wouldn’t matter since he’d be upset with me. Looking back, yes, I regret it. Yes, I wish I would have hung on. He said that he would have beat me in that competition, but I don’t know. I had a lot of will power and I was so mad that Shane walked out that door.
Q: With all the anger you feel toward Dan, if it had been you, Dan and Shane in the Final 3 and you had the choice, who were you going to take to the Final 2?
Danielle: I would have gone with my heart and could have never wronged Shane since he never wronged me, I would have taken Shane. However, I wouldn’t have let myself get into that position to have to decide. I did not want to decide. I probably would have just let the guys duke it out.
Q: Why do you think you were the only one that voted for Dan?
Danielle: Because I think everyone in the Jury talked about how Dan treated people and what Dan had said to everybody. I think the way you treat people is really important in this game and I think that they were just so mad at how it all went down and how everybody left. I don’t blame them.
Q: Do you think it was that or were they jealous that he might be a 2-time winner? That’s part of the game of Big Brother.
Danielle: Since I wasn’t sitting in Jury, I have no idea. After the show, I only hung out with Wil, Kara, Janelle and Shane. Jojo and I didn’t talk. Dan waved at me from afar.
Q: If you had been able to get into the Final 2, how good do you think your chances were to win?
Danielle: If I would have been against Dan, I think I would have won. I think if I was against Ian, he still would have won cause Ian deserved to win.
Q: You didn’t get to hear this because you were still in the House last night, but the Jury got together to discuss the Final 3 and what they thought of each of you. When she was still in the House, you were pretty close with Britney and you developed a great friendship, but when it came to discussing you with the Jury, she sided with Ian and said that she thought you really didn’t deserve to win. Do you take that personally or are you able to separate the personal from the game?
Danielle: I did take it personal. It did hurt my feelings, but it doesn’t change my outlook on Britney. I didn’t get to defend myself. I didn’t get to say anything, so she’s just going off of he-said/she-said stuff in the Jury. I don’t take it personally, and I still love her to death.
Q: If Big Brother decided to do another twist in the future where player’s return, which obviously is quite common, would you ever be interested in playing again?
Danielle: I wouldn’t say I would never go back, but I’m not going to say it’s a definite possibility. It all depends on who’s playing. At this moment, I really don’t think that I would ever want to play with Dan again because emotionally I can’t go through that stress. I think that if Dan wasn’t coming back with all his antics, I might do it again.
Q: What was your favorite moment of the summer?
Danielle: I loved the Wil impersonations! I loved when Wil would look at the Memory Wall and joke around. Wil definitely made the House more fun!
Q: Will you be going to the Wrap Party in Vegas or the one tonight?
Danielle: I will not be going to the party in Vegas, but it’s possible I’ll attend the one tonight.
Q: Will you be going on Twitter any time soon?
Danielle: Maybe. I don’t know. I really don’t like the negative stuff. It gets to me, so I try not to look at it.
Q: What’s in the future for Danielle? What do you plan on doing now – going back to nursing, staying in Alabama, moving to Hollywood?
Danielle: I’m not moving to Hollywood. I’ll definitely stay in Alabama. I will go back to nursing as soon as some of this stuff dies down.
Q: As it worked out, you ended up being the last woman in the House. Was this part of your strategy or was it just how things worked out?
Danielle: It was just how things worked out. It was never my intention to be the last woman. I’m very proud and flattered to be the last woman, but it would have been nice to have another female presence in the House.
Final 3 – Danielle, Ian, and Dan
Q: You mentioned that it’ll take some time to work up to being friends with Dan again, but looking at how Ian and Dan played the game, do you regret your vote for Dan?
Danielle: I don’t like to play the “Would of/Could of/Should of” or the “What if?” game, but I am glad that Ian won. I think it would have been nice for Ian to win 7-0 because I think he does deserve it, but I did give my word to Dan. I did say I would vote for him, so in that sense, I didn’t want to break my word. I just wish I never would have told Dan that I would have voted for him.
Q: When you first got out of the House and sat down with Julie, it looked like there was a crowd reaction that maybe you saw something going on between Dan and Ian in the House. Did you see anything?
Danielle: Yeah, I saw them jump around and I saw Dan was laughing and giggling when he did the “Suck It” move. I was thinking, “Are you serious?”
Q: For a long time, Dan was going to take you to the Final 2. It was near the end where he panicked and thought he was going to lose to you, so he switched to Ian, so don’t feel too bad.
Danielle: He switched to never take me, even after he got rid of Shane?
Q: It was after he realized that Ian was not going to throw the final part of the HOH.
Danielle: It’s just kind of disappointing, when he did say over and over again that his goal the whole game was to get him and his player to the end and he didn’t have any intention of doing that.
Q: So, what’s the future hold between you and Shane?
Danielle: I guess just to see what happens, but I’m definitely not going to not pursue something. We’re definitely hanging out later today. I think we can make it work, for sure. I know we’re both going to pursue something and try it out. We’ll hope for the best.
Q: What are the obstacles for the two of you?
Danielle: The distance. Alabama and Vermont are a long way away, but he is such a great guy and an amazing, amazing person, that I’m not going to let the distance get between us.
Q: Do you think that you’re in love with him?
Danielle: Mm-hmmm. I could be.
Thanks for taking time to talk with us today, Danielle.
Danielle: Thank you!
CBS Drops Lawsuit Against ABC’s The Glass House
Some say this might be long overdue. Others might be surprised to hear this hasn’t already been done, but CBS announced today that they will be dropping the lawsuit against ABC’s reality show, “The Glass House.” But first … there’s a twist.
CBS cited low viewership number of “The Glass House” was the reason they were no longer interested in pursuing the case. The network will, however, continue to pursue claims against the show’s top producers who allegedly violated confidentiality agreements while working on the CBS show “Big Brother.” This motion will continue privately and not in a federal courtroom, as has been the case since May.
From the Associated Press, CBS claimed the show copied “Big Brother” too closely. A judge refused to grant CBS’ request to block the show’s broadcast, saying the unpredictable nature of reality television meant that the two shows were likely to be very different, despite some similarities in their format.
In a statement released today, CBS wrote that “The viewers have spoken and delivered the ultimate form of justice against ‘The Glass House.'”
“The Glass House” has filmed it’s final episode, which will air Monday at 10/9c on ABC. “Big Brother 14” airs Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday nights on CBS.
Big Brother 14 – The Yak’s Interview with Evicted Big Brother Houseguest Janelle Pierzina
Bye, Bye, Bitches Jani! – Evicted Big Brother Houseguest Janelle Pierzina sits down with Mikey for an exclusive interview.
________________________________________
Still reeling from her untimely eviction, Big Brother legend, turned coach, turned third time competitor Janelle Pierzina sat down with The Yak today for an exclusive interview on her stay in the Big Brother house.
The biggest question on everyone’s mind was the bitter rivalry she shared with Season seven winner Mike “Boogie” Malin. When asked whether or not she thought he was playing it personal, Janelle said yes. “It was like he was playing with some vendetta against me for Will” the legend said. On remaining friends with the former winner turned coach outside of the game she said “probably not, he played it personal and I try not to do that”.
When time came to discuss the seasons “Coaches Twist” Janelle explained that she enjoyed it. “My favorite part was when my newbies would come to me with all this information everyday” she said in response to questions about Wil, Ashley, and Joe. Two of which – Joe and Wil, she’d surprisingly like to see walk out the door sooner rather than later. Although she has forgiven both Wil and Ashley for their betrayal, she went on to say that “Ashley and Wil are playing the game one week at a time” a move Jani isn’t too fond of.
What was Janelle’s ultimate downfall in the Big Brother house this time around? “That I’m a competitor” she said confidently. “I felt like Britney was threatened that I was a fan favorite” she added. A woman of few emotions, Jedi Jani broke her tough exterior with tears last night upon her departure from the house. “I hugged this really nice lady when I walked out, and I just couldn’t hold it in. I felt like I let her down!” Janelle said humbly.
Another hot topic was the issue of leaving her family behind to enter the house a third time. Many a Big Brother fan made their voice heard on the topic this summer, but what did Janelle have to say? Somewhat surprised, she simply said it was “rude”. A dignified and classy response to a question that could have potentially been volatile, it’s safe to say that the Big Brother beauty is confident in the decision she made.
As we get closer to the finale, everyone wants to know who has what it takes to make it to the final two? And, as any true Big Brother fan does, Janelle has her top picks. “I think Dan has what it takes win, and I’m rooting for him” she said. Of all the houseguests she lived with this Summer Janelle has the most respect for fellow coach and former winner Dan Gheesling. “Dan’s the only one who came to me and said look you’re leaving, I respected that ya know? I was always honest with people in season six and seven and I played the same way this time.” Not only does Janelle believe Dan has what it takes to get to the end, she believes the same of fellow coach Britney Haynes. “I definitely think Britney has a shot at making it to the end” she said. Of the newbies, “I would like to see Ian win because he’s a fan. Not so much for his game play, we didn’t talk much game; we talked about nature and science a lot. He was kind of awkward, socially. I will definitely be rooting for him if he makes it to the end” But, what about those who don’t have a shot at making it to the end? Janelle filled us in on her bottom picks. “Wil, Ashley, and Jenn really don’t have what it takes” she told us with much certainty.
After what proved to be a wild week, who surprised Janelle the most? “Britney, we had good times in the house, we always did stuff together. I could definitely tell that something was up with her, and Dan had dropped some hints too so I kind of knew what was going on.”
Is this the last we’ll see of the Big Brother legend? Not necessarily. She wouldn’t rule out returning to air waves if the “right thing” came along, but she did make one thing clear, her life is in Minnesota not Los Angeles. All in all, Janelle seems at peace with her departure from the house. She can’t wait to get back to Minneapolis to reunite with her baby girl and the love of her life.
Better late than never, guys! Extenuating circumstances prevented me from seeing the show live BUT that’s okay because there’s a lot of ways to see it. I recapped it a bit last time and I don’t get why because you guys have seen the show, so yeah, we’re just going with my thoughts from here on out.
Carrot Top Richard Simmons Jr., going into it tonight, is who I thought would leave, seriously. I am not digging this joker. Willie is going on a major power trip right now and yeah, Wee Willie Winky, you are NOT your brother. You are nowhere near as slick as he was.
I am REALLY liking Wil more now. At first I thought he’d be annoying as hell, but he’s actually really smart and thinks things through.
FINALLY! The players start to figure out that if you get out Kara, then Dan’s down to one player and could be on his way out. Britney hit on it well, too, when they talked about how slick, how solid Dan is as a player. And Janey was SMART talking strategy to Dan but dumb move talking to him right in front of Britney. Janey, I thought you were better than that.
I wonder if there IS a twist in the game, with those keyholes, COULD they be entering the game at some point? Britney, you IDIOT, WHY WHY WHY would you tell Willie what you suspect? Did you NOT think ahead that he might get paranoid about it and go to the other players. My god Britney, don’t talk…think. LMFAO, yup, Willie ran to them right away and Britney, sayng you don’t know what he’s thinking, etc. DUH, you KNOW what he’s thinking, you’re the one who freaking told him what you suspect. My god, STUPID.
Britney lit this fire, Willie lead the charge and yeah….
Joe was right, Willie is playing too fast though. He’s right, if they come in the game one of the coaches could walk away with the 500K. So they’re both right. Welcome to the Department of Redundancy Department, Couch Potato.
I really hope there’s a challenge involving head shaving because I so want to see Frank’s hair cut, it drives me crazy.
Willie, Mr. Deflection, throwing himself off the track by mocking Wil in front of Britney. In front of Frank. Stupid ass. Joe saying Willie was trying to dictate who voted, how, wow. Good move Joe saying that, it exposes Willie. IT could have been a bold move by Willie but the way he did it was dumb too.
Congratulations, Frank! You FINALLY realize that you can’t trust Willie, DUH. Stupid ass. Joe, STOP YELLING IN THE DR. Dan was bad enough, you’re worse and everything is part of the game, mocking people, but it’s dumb to do so too in front of a bunch of people, the way Willie did Wil. I loved Wil’s reaction to it; I don’t think Willie’s homophobic but I can understand being upset at being mocked too. And Britney, wow, let’s stoke the fire in Willie a bit more, would you? Her talking about others running their mouths when she’s spreading paranoia too..Hi Pot!
Oh, oh, FIGHT FIGHT! Was it better on the feeds than what was shown? No wait, don’t tell me, tell me at the end of the season. Willie, Wee Willie, you are acting like some messiah guru…let me clue you in, you’re not. Okay, when he got to the Fruit Loops part, yeah, he lost me….Boogie, why jump in? Remember when you were a guest during BB11 and talked about how Kevin avoided conflict? Yeah, you should have remembered that, your outburst was dumb. Just let Willie bury himself. Stupid ass.
By the way, whatsup with Julie’s dress? She looks like a Push-Up pop.
Oh yay, question for JoJo…hon, it’s “ask”, not “aks”. You didn’t expect drama, really? Even week one? Ian, I don’t get him, he borders on adorkable and creepy. Lose the beret Wil. And the see through shirt. You seem to be a smart player, but you annoy me…as does Ashley, “loosey goosey” really? OMG. If Willie doesn’t pull a Chima at some point, I’d be surprised. He’s gonna blow, I can feel it. Boogie is not aging well.
Live vote time! I want Frank to go but wouldn’t be shocked if Kara goes because of Willie’s antics. Frank’s speech…whatever Frank, everyone has fought hard to get there. Look at your coach, he’s a bully too. Kara’s speech….really? Played an honest game? No one plays honest in this game, not 100%. They’d be smart to get rid of Frank; if he doesn’t go now it’s going to be HARD to get him out. Here we go with the votes.
Ian looked like he wanted to hang around in the DR after he voted, LMAO! Julie is right, Jenn is playing like a “Jenius” so far, she’s totally avoiding conflict. Wil, your underwear was showing there. Ashley’s annoying but she’s also laying low. WOW, bye bye Kara. That was both smart and dumb. Frank is a strong player, watch now he gets HOH. Kara going is a good thing, brings Dan’s team down to one player.
Willie looked like he wanted to throw up when Kara was evicted…..love the exit hugs, “Love you. Just evicted your ass but yea, love you”. Poor Danielle, that’s got to be scary as hell.
I think Kara was evicted because of Willie being an ass, honestly, there’s no other reason. Joe, you’re a JERK. STOP SHOUTING YOU DORK. My god, what a douchenozzle. Shane, you’re a pig too.
Okay, HOH time. I want someone on Janey’s team to win HOH, or better yet, Danielle. THAT would be fun, watching the lone player on Dan’s team. Seeing Willie sweat would be fun, but I’d hate for Frank to win because he’s annoying too. LMAO at the BB News thingy! I would have slept on that couch if allowed…why did people continue to go back to bed? So, Shane’s out first, HA. WOW, on the second question, all out but two. Calm down there Frank, dang. Omg Willie looked like he was going to puke again at this point.
OMG LMFAO, Frank is the new HOH. Hilarious! Willie has to pass on the key too. Now, watch both Frank and Boogie go on a massive power trip this week and make the same mistakes Willie did. I can see this already. Smart move for Frank would be to focus on getting Danielle out. She’s out, Dan’s out. That’s one coach out, one less chance of his coach losing the Coach’s Comp. Emotional move would be to nominate Willie and someone else on Britney’s team..Shane or JoJo. Willie, saying Frank will pay back loyalty, really? So wait, Willie can’t dictate to others what’s done but you can talk as if you do?
I don’t think Frank is smart enough to focus on Danielle.
Wow, Coach winning this week’s coaches competition decides whether or not they want to swap a player? I was gonna say someone should snag Frank since Boogie has a man-crush on him but alas, not to be. So my prediction; Frank nominates Willie and someone else from his team. I’m also gonna say that Willie wins POV and fluffs his peacock feathers again. Dan, tell Danielle to lay low bud, that’s her best bet. Let Willie and others implode.
Now I shall rank the players and the coaches on a scale of who I like most to least, 1 is most, 11 is least for the players, 1 is most for the coaches, 4 is least.
1) Danielle
2) Jenn
3) Wil
4) Ian
Honestly, the other six annoy the piss out of me. Joe shouts too much. Ashley is on a permanent free love high, Willie is a wannabe of his big brother, JoJo is just blech, Shane is a LMN wannabe. Frank, don’t get me started, and someone shave his head. If I forgot someone that should say something.
I like Dan the most as a coach, Janey’s next, then Britney and then Boogie. That’s it. Anything good on the feeds since the live show?
The Yak Chats With Big Brother 14’s Kara Monaco
After last night’s eviction from the Big Brother 14 house, Kara Monaco was able to answer a few questions from YakkityYaks forum members, readers and twitter followers. Please note that this interview was done differently than our chat with Jodi, if you will, and as a result only SOME questions we passed along to Kara were answered. Per protocol, not all of our questions were able to be asked/answered, but we appreciate all of your suggestions!
Take that as you will, Big Brother fans, but check out the few thoughts Kara had below. We have our suspicions as to what the reasons might be, but we’ll let you come up with a few on your own.
The Yak: What did you think about the coach twist? Which coach would you have picked if you could have chosen?
Kara: I thought it was cool. It was a good twist. It is something they haven’t done before and it made the game really interesting. Dan is the coach I wanted and would have chosen anyways.
The Yak: After giving it some thought, do you understand why Wil told you that he couldn’t give you his vote?
Kara: Yeah – I guess I understand and it is just a game but it still sucks.
The Yak: If you got a do-over, starting from scratch, how would you have played the game differently?
Kara: I don’t think I would have done anything different. The only thing you can be is yourself and I was. I played an honest game and that is all I could do.
The Yak: One of our members would like to know… if you could steal a smooch with any celebrity, who would it be?
Kara: I have a couple… Ryan Gosling or Alexander Skarsgard. They’re hot.
With that, we wished Kara the best of luck in her future endeavors and let her know some Yakksters were sad to see her go!
Big Brother’s Couch Potato Examines the Houseguests
Note: This feature will be submitted on a weekly basis by one of our Twitter followers! If you’d like to write for the Yak, just let us know and we’ll see what we can do! We’re open and very receptive to participation from all types of Yaks!
So, hello everyone. You’re probably wondering who I am, but I’m not gonna tell…anyone. What I am going to do is give you a unique view of Big Brother 14 (unique for all of you at least). What is that, you ask? It’s the perspective of someone who was formerly like you, a hardcore Big Brother online nerd net fan. I used to watch the feeds all the time, would scour the internet for any and all scoopage and spoilers and of course, read the Yak updates from my phone when I couldn’t get online. But not this year. You see, I’ve decided to sacrifice all of that and give the Yak a perspective it’s not used to…the perspective of a show only watcher. I will not be watching the feeds, I won’t be reading any spoilers. I’ll know house events only when it’s aired on TV and I’ll only know the goings on of the house from what they air.
As we all know, CBS edits the heck out of what it airs. It has to. There’s NO WAY they could air everything you all see on the feeds. In the past, however, that’s left a lot of good stuff out of the aired shows. People who watch JUST the show would have no clue on many things and that’s what I’m going to be this year. I’m giving it all up, and I do this for the Yak.
So, every week, once a week (maybe more if I feel like it) I’ll be sending in my thoughts on each show to one of the prestigious owners of this site. Only they know who I am. I’ve followed the Yak on Twitter for a long time, and one thing I respect the hell out of them for is that they are very limited on what they spoil directly on their Twitter TL. They tweet out that they have them and then give their followers the option to view them on their site. So, I contacted the Yak via DM the other day, asked them if they’d like this perspective and they agreed. So here we go. Keep in mind, when you read this again, that I ONLY know what is aired. I won’t be reading this either on the Yak’s site and unfortunately I won’t be trolling as much as I used to, to purposely avoid spoilers.
First, my thoughts on the newbies:
Frank is the long lost secret child of Richard Simmons and Carrot Top…and a pervert, grabbing the big bed so the last girl w/out a bed has to sleep with him. But, as evidenced by his performance in the first HOH competition, he’s physically fit. I wonder if he’s spastic all the time or if he chills out.
Danielle…cute accent…at first. Then when she talked more I was instantly reminded of Holly from BB5. However, I also liked her attitude in the HOH competition and her approach to Dan when she was facing the instant eviction.
Shane, the house flipper who can’t really say that if you don’t actually sell them. Plus, please get rid of that stupid shell necklace. I don’t know about him, he seems like he’d be someone puffing his chest out as he walked around, cocky as hell.
Jodi – Kalia junior? She wasn’t there long enough to form a true impression but I got the feeling she would have been a constant whiner and drama starter.
Ian – if Michelle from BB11 hadn’t lost her mind she could have found her soul-mate. He is totally adorable. I love his facial expressions and he seems like he could be a VERY smart player. He seems schooled in the game too. Big fan already.
Wil…wow….if I were watching the feeds he’d be interesting to see. He’s also a strong competitor though and since he’s on Janelle’s team, that’s fitting, they seem like they’d get along very well. I imagine him to either be, along with Ian, the house pet of sorts OR VERY annoying.
JoJo immediately bugs the you know what out of me with instant attitude. Dislike, “I always get my bed”. Bite me. I hated her attitude the entire time, she seemed very self-entitled and a total b*tch.
Willie, Russell Hantz’s brother, is interesting. No immunity idol hidden though. But I think he’s got a big hurdle as many instantly suspected him to be a relation to Russell. IF he can surpass that and not make too many waves as the first HOH, he could go far as he seems like a strong competitor as well.
Ah, the stock BB model, former groupie – Kara. That’s about it for her, she honestly didn’t make that much of an impression on me.
Joe the chef – spaz, total spaz. But if he plays it smart and bends to his skills as a chef without bringing a lot of attention to himself, he could go far. I didn’t get much of an impression on him yet either, though.
Jenn – tattoo rock chick – is someone who has to flaunt their uniqueness is dealing with insecurity issues. But I liked her gusto on the HOH competition too. As we all know though, (hi Lydia), her type always gets in the drama and I kinda got that vibe from her. That’s stereotyping though, too.
Spray tan chick, Ashley, headband, hippie dippie says love…seriously, the headband thing is so over. She comes across as annoying as hell. WAY too outgoing, WAY too exuberant. She’d wear me out the first day and I’d be waiting for BB to telling her to shut up. Ashley needs to be cut off from any sort of stimulating substance.
“Most memorable.” “The greats.” That’s how the four returning players were referred to by the Chenbot.
Dan – YES. He WAS a great player, one of the best. I can see this.
He’s going to be a great coach.
Janelle -YEAH! Most competition wins in a season, she’s a total competitor.
Britney – Don’t see how she’s a “great player” but acknowledged that she did get played, and that she didn’t see the big picture. Yes, you do have to prove you can play. But I like her attitude coming into it as well and she was very encouraging to her teammates. I think she has learned from her first time around.
Boogie – It will be interesting to see how he does without Will. Didn’t know he was a dad, that’s cool. But seems to have a grasp on it except saying he’s the best to ever play, which that title belongs to his CT mate, Will. I hope, HOPE, that he and Janelle pair up in some way honestly.
The twist was interesting too. Britney was smart to pick Willie as HOH and I hope he doesn’t let this power go to his head. Dan, I think, made the right choice in eliminating Jodi. The only thing I think she would have been strong at is MAYBE the social aspect. If Willie was smart, he’d nominate the two girls left on Dan’s team and the house has a consensus that even if one comes off the block, the other one is evicted; leaving Dan’s team with just one player on it. You all may already know what the plan is, I won’t know who is nominated until Sunday night. Until next time, enjoy the feeds for me!
Judge Denies CBS’s Request for TRO Against ABC’s Glass House
Update: Judge Feess noted during the proceedings that “CBS has not convinced me that they will succeed in their copyright claims…CBS seeks to protect the idea of a show of contestants in a house where cameras are running…you can’t copyright that…. I don’t know if Glass House will have any effect on Big Brother… It will continue to go forward and be successful.” CBS Scott Edelman says ABC took CBS’s #1 summer show and copied it. Citing Wikipedia as a source showing other shows similar to Big Brother, the judged joked back and said he thought Big Brother was “just Survivor in a house.” Edelman argued, “The voyeuristic feel is the embodiment of the expression of Big Brother and found on both shows.” In regards to the deposition of producer Kenny Rosen, “We thought the record that was developed was extremely compelling,” Edelman said. “We clearly have violations of a [non-disclosure agreement] and violations of trade secrets.” The judge responded, “I am not persuaded the adult appetite of viewers for Big Brother (will change).” He went on with some personal comments, “I thought after one or two reality shows we would never see others. Audience fascination with these shows is well understood even if some of us can’t understand it.” Judge Feess also wanted to note that “The closer we get to nonfiction (programming), it’s more difficult to argue copyright infringement.” It seems networks can still attempt to sue for copyright infringment but that they shouldn’t expect a victory.
ABC has incurred a short-term victory. In the ongoing lawsuit that we have been keeping you updated on, early Friday morning, U.S. District Judge Gary Feess temporarily denied CBS’ request for a temporary restraining order against the ABC series. The Glass House, set to premiere Monday June 18 at 10/9c on ABC, will live on – at least for now. The hearing is still in session, as lawyers from both sides are arguing their points in front of the presiding judge.
Read as CBS Outlines how The Glass House is a Copycat
As we have been reporting, CBS claims that ABC and The Glass House contains private, confidential and copyrighted information from the reality summer hit, Big Brother. ABC denies these allegations, stating that the production values of The Glass House are not trade secrets and that Big Brother is actually a “stale” franchise.
This lawsuit has been clogging the internet since May. Fans of the CBS hit have been hinting at wanting live feeds for the behind the scenes battle in the lawsuit. Sadly, there is no such luck. While the Glass House premiere is just days away, Big Brother is set to hit airways July 12 at 9/8c on CBS! We, of course, are chatting up both shows and more in our FORUMS, so join us! Also, be sure to consider buying your Early Bird Superpass Feeds for Big Brother 14 through the Yak! It’d mean a lot!
