So You Think You Can Dance Season Debut!

so-you-think-you-can-dance Do we have any SYTYCD fans out there?  Yeah, I am most definietly one of them.  I just love watching, and wishing, that I could dance like that.

The 2010 season started off very nice, with some terrific dancers!  Most notably missing from the action however was Mary Murphy, whom I know many, many people miss dearly.  I was a fan of her dance knowledge, but not so much the screaming fits she would have.  To each their own thought!  Many in our forum outright miss her and think the new panel is too subdued.  I actually enjoyed it.  I am also very happy to see Mia Michaels returning to the show, and really hope she will be choreographing many of the dances this year.  No one beats her in my opinion.  She has always been the choreographer on the dances that touch me most.

The dancer that made it through that stood out the most to me last night however was Teddy.  You may remember him last year, little blond kid who was wearing a very stand out lime green with plaid-ish shirt – I loved his dancing last year, seemed whimsical.  Last year unfortunately, he didn’t make it out of the Vegas rounds.  This year for his audition, he dressed all in a black suit and tie, and did an incredible, and incredibly sad dance, seeming to end with a sad little boy deciding to end his life.  It was certainly touching, and he had so emotion in it.  It was terrific.

Now for those of you that are fans of the show, you know that this year, SYTYCD powers that be have decided to change up the format.  This year, instead of 20 contestants (10 couples) they have decided to only go with 10 contestants.  Dancing as their partner with them will be “All-Stars” from seasons past.  I am really excited to see some of the All Stars they plan on bringing back.  I have included a list of the “All Stars” due to come back to dance this season at the bottom of this post.  Also different this year, only one dancer will leave each week, and they will switch partners weekly.

CBS’s Version of Big Brother, What You See is NOT Always The Truth!!!

Okay Yakksters, as you all know, I always do the show thread, every night it airs, I type it up for you as it happens. I had a VERY hard time doing so on Tuesday, August 11th’s episdoe though as my hands were shaking from anger.

I don’t work for CBS productions, so I have no idea how hard it would have to be to wittle down 24/7 feeds into 42 minutes of aired showtime, 3 times a week. That being said, if you’re going to show the fights, and the controversies, you would THINK you’d also show it in a way that it doesn’t seem slanted, unless you want to avoid bad publicity…….which is just what CBS did tonight.

So, you ask, what happened?
