The Amazing Race 19 Teams Announced!

One of my all time favorite shows is coming back, premiering Sunday September 25th at 8|7c. Today, The Amazing Race Announced it’s new cast! Keep reading to see who they are!

Andy and Tommy: Olympic Snowboarder who have been friends over 13 years. They want to compete hard on the race, but have fun and ditch the serious. They refer to themselves as loose cannons. Hopefully, the will mean they bring some drama to the race.

Ethan and Jenna: You know the two from Survivor, but they are now ready to run The Amazing Race. Ethan, having survived Cancer in 2009, has a new lease on life and hopes TAR to be a terrific experience. Jenna is looking forward to more time to bond with Ethan.

Bill and Cathi: Married from New York, the oldest team on this seasons race, in their early sixties. When describing their biggest challenges to get through on the race, Bill says Cathi gets her feeling hurt easily when he points out she is wrong about something, and Cathi says they can both be bossy. Look for some fights on this team.

Amani and Marcus: Married couple from Georgia. Their biggest challenge with one another going into the race? Amani says Marcus has selective hearing and hopes he will listen to her on the Race. Marcus says Amani asks questions in fragments, asking things like “Baby, Money?” and responds with “Money what!” I guess that explains the selective hearing thing!

Ernie and Cindy: Engaged couple from Chicago. Ernie says his biggest challenge is getting his point across in a direct way, saying that he can be very vague, while Cindy says Ernie needs to be more direct with her. Look for this team to get lost somewhere.

Jeremy and Sandy: Dating couple from California. As for their biggest challenge on the race? Jeremy says they have never had to communicate under pressure, while Sandy says Jeremy is a great communicator and very passionate and emotional, but he hasn’t had the experience of seeing her open up that way yet. We will see how they get along under the ultimate pressure.

Justin and Jennifer: Siblings from Georgia. Jeremy says their biggest challenge will be when Sandy shuts down because of being tired or hungry, and gets pretty mean when she does. Jennifer says Justin always sees her as the little sister, always double checking her. She hopes he can get past that so it doesn’t slow them down. Look for some sibling arguments here.

Kaylani and Lisa: Cocktail Waitresses from Las Vegas. (For the Big Brother fans, does that make you think of anyone?) They say they are bull headed when they have made up their mind on what to do, so overcoming and agreeing on things might be an issue. I am guessing these two will be the flirts of the race.

Laurence and Zac: Father and Son from Thousand Oaks, California. Laurence is a Yacht Manager, and Zac a Boat Captain making deliveries around the world. The both hope to be able to keep a level head under the pressure. They will use their endurance, water and mapping skills to good use on the race. Expect them to do really well at all water challenges.

Liz and Marie: Twin sisters from Illinois. While Liz says their biggest challenge will be, because they are so close, to not pick at each others faults creating a fight, Marie says that Liz needs to think things through before reacting, which results in many of their fights. Basically, Liz wants to not point out faults while Marie points out Liz’s faults. Should be an interesting dynamic.

Ron and Bill: Domestic Partners from California. Ron and Bill both claim they communicate very openly and well, and hope it will continue under the pressure of the race. Pet Peeves? Ron says Bill has a tendency to use “word inflation” whereas Bill says Ron can get moody. I am expecting to learn new words from this team.
