Brace yourselves Closer fans, the show might not be closing it’s doors after the 7th season after all. Reports broken by TVLine indicate the show might no longer be dead. Nearly two months ago, TNT announced that the upcoming 7th season would be the show’s last. However, sources are now saying otherwise. The network is apparently looking to keep the show alive in one way or another.
TNT originally shut the doors on The Closer after it’s leading star, Kyra Sedgwick, expressed desire to leave after the close of the 7th season. Now it appears the show may live on without it’s lead female. Options being thrown about include extending the final season from 15 to 21 episodes, continuing the series with a new lead, or launching a spinoff. This doesn’t come off as a huge surprise, considering The Closer is basic cable’s most watched series of all time, shattering records left and right in viewers and top demographics. So, how would you like to see the show live on after Sedgwick’s departure? Should the show even continue? Let us know below!
