Looks like the Hunger Games will be coming to a television near you – reality style! Wednesday afternoon, the CW announced that they have ordered two new reality shows for their upcoming slate, one of which sounds to be VERY much so inspired by the hit book & movie franchise.
The Hunt is an hour-long competition that will span over a month, forcing 12 teams of two to face one another for a cash prize. The experience will pit the teams against one another, testing their physical strength, emotional stability and mental stamina as they must hunt and endure conditions with no food, water, or shelter. Sounds a bit like a Survivor/Hunger Games mix, no? As an added twist, the teams would have to capture one another to determine the winner. We’re thinking capture substitutes the killing that the Hunger Games encourages.
Another development from the network brings yet another dating show to TV. Perfect Score pits two friends against one another to see who can pick their ideal mate from a group of 12 strangers. Each pairing represents a pre-determined dollar amount. The closer you are to finding your soul mate, the more cash the contestants receive to jump start their relationship. No word on when the shows will air, but we’ll let you know as soon as it has been announced.
What do you think? Are these future hits or immediate duds?
